Key Responsibilities: 

  • Business Continuity Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive business continuity management (BCM) framework, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and industry best practices
  • Disaster Recovery Strategy: Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery plans to minimize the impact of disruptions on critical business functions and ensure timely recovery
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential threats to operations and determine recovery strategies
  • Testing and Exercises: Plan and conduct regular testing of business continuity and disaster recovery plans, including tabletop exercises and simulations, to validate effectiveness and identify areas for improvement
  • Collaboration: Work closely with IT, operations, legal, compliance, and other departments to ensure cohesive and effective continuity planning across the organization
  • Training and Awareness: Develop and deliver training programs to enhance awareness and preparedness among staff regarding business continuity and disaster recovery procedures
  • Incident Response Support: Collaborate with the incident response team to ensure that recovery strategies are integrated into the overall incident response framework
  • Reporting and Metrics: Prepare reports for senior management on business continuity and disaster recovery status, including metrics, findings from tests, and recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Security, Risk Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)
  • 7+ years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, or related fields, with a focus on information security, including 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Strong understanding of business continuity and disaster recovery frameworks (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex situations and develop effective recovery strategies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in business continuity and disaster recovery planning tools and software

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CBCP, MBCI, CBRM)
  • Experience with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to business continuity and disaster recovery
