As a core member of our operations team, you will play a crucial role in turning our clients’ vision into reality. We are currently seeking a helpful, flexible, self-starter to join our small and friendly team in Woolwich Arsenal as a Workshop Technician. The role will see you use your practical skills to ensure work is carried out efficiently and to the correct standard and specification. This will cover a diverse list of workshop tasks throughout the working week to include assembly, testing, quality assurance on all products manufactured on site as well as general organisational work and problem solving. Additionally, you must be able to proactively evaluate the next task and action it accordingly, as well as having a can-do attitude.

Main responsibilities

  • Building / assembling products to the required specification and standards
  • Demonstrate ability to work to strict deadlines whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and product quality
  • Inspection and testing of assembled units to specified test parameters
  • Flag quality issues and actively search for supervisor support
  • Using basic power tool usage (drilling, abrasive wheels, amongst others)
  • Have ownership on your work station in regards to cleanliness, tool and material completeness 
  • Perform small scale electronic assembly work
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement to gain higher quality and a most time-efficient assembly
  • Pallet truck operation on request
  • Any other task or duty required as deemed reasonable by the company

Essential experience / qualities

  • Mechanical assembly and workshop experience, including experience with basic hand tools, power tools etc
  • Due to the nature of the role, an Electrical background would be beneficial 
  • Dexterous and the ability to handle and manipulate small components, with good hand/eye coordination
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • Positive can-do attitude towards work and fellow team members
  • High quality awareness and eye for the detail
  • Good understanding of health and safety guidelines
  • Willing to address deviations on quality to supervisor to continuously improve product quality and processes
  • Willingness to travel within UK
  • Fluency in English
