Desktop Support Engineers at Airship maintain and improve the support to our fellow Airshippers.  They are responsible for the day to day support as well as documenting process and maintaining our inventory.  

This is a remote hybrid remote role which may require being in the Portland office 2 - 3 days a week as needed.  We need you to be endlessly curious and to think from the perspective of your customer.   What would make their work easier?   Does this software have an interface that makes sense?  You will work to test, install, configure, troubleshoot and provide ongoing support for tech stack. As part of this process, you will develop the documentation and other instructions to help our internal customers succeed.

Day to day you will be supporting our Portland office and our remote users worldwide.  Our environment is primarily Mac, with small percentages of Linux and Windows systems. Our primary SaaS suite is Google Workspace, Zoom and Okta.

Responsibilities

  • Provide day to day support and troubleshooting including after hours emergency response
  • Respond to support requests from Airshippers via JIRA and Slack
  • Support Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Be a documentation champion, crafting and refining processes as Airship grows
  • Support internal A/V systems and remote A/V meetings
  • Maintain inventory, order and provision new hardware
  • Account provisioning and password management
  • Participate in projects and provide assistance as directed
  • Create and deliver end-user training

To thrive in this role, you have

  • 3 - 4 years of work experience in an IT support related field
  • Ability to explain complex answers to nontechnical audiences
  • Knowledge of current macOS and Windows operating systems
  • Prior experience with executive support
  • Focus on continuous improvement
  • Experience supporting SaaS such as Okta, Google Workspace, and Atlassian
  • Experience in mobile device management especially with Apple and ChromeOS devices
