Argent aims to be crypto’s defining company: the first to bring the benefits of self-custody to a global audience. Giving people control of their assets and identity, and helping them to enjoy new economic opportunities.

To do this we’ve built the first smart wallet. As different from traditional wallets as smart phones were to 90’s phones. Argent is easier, safer, cheaper, and greener.

With over 2m downloads we’re growing fast. And have raised a total of $56m from Paradigm, Index Ventures and Creandum to fuel our ambitious efforts.

About the Operations team

You’ll join our operations team, consisting of people, talent and strategy. We aim to attract and retain outstanding Argonauts, while ensuring the company has the right foundations in place for them to do the best work of their careers. There are over 60 Argonauts at the moment and we’re adding several more before the end of the year. 

As People Operations Lead, you will get to:

Own everything related to people / HR at Argent. You will shape how this evolves.

Priority areas at the start are:

  • Performance processes - e.g. taking our biannual reviews to the next level.
  • Progression - from ongoing feedback to 1-1s and more, help Argent to be the best place for people to accelerate their career.
  • Compensation - building on our existing efforts to pay fairly and competitively, using the latest market data.
  • Manager training - helping our team leads to provide the best support possible to their teams.

You’ll report to our VP of Strategy & Operations.

Your experience should include:

  • Minimum of 5 years+ of people operations experience at a rapidly growing (and highly technical) start-up.
  • Managing people operations / HR at a remote startup.
  • A track record of being thoughtful about what new people processes to introduce, how you roll them out, and how you iterate and scale them over time.
  • Being passionate about high performance, with evidence of the impact you’ve had on this in prior roles.
  • Partnering with talent teams to: 1) create a seamless onboarding experience for new hires; 2) build an employer brand and own the full employee experience from onboarding and beyond.

While we expect the right candidate to know what best practice looks like, it’s more important that you know what is right for us. You’ll be able to tailor your work to our specific opportunities, challenges, and values.
