Job Description
The role of the Head of Business Operations is an Authorised Management position and is based in B2C2’s Luxembourg office. The role is a senior position and the successful candidate would become a member of the management team within B2C2 Europe, and must be approved by the CSSF.
This role will be responsible for the effective management of the Luxembourg office, as well as the oversight of the administrative, operational and control functions to meet the local regulatory requirements.
Roles and responsibilities:
Strategic
- Contribute to the leadership and day-to-day management of the Luxembourg legal entity
- Provide the firm with a deep insight and knowledge of the Luxembourg and EU digital asset market structure, including Banks, Custodians and Funds
Operational
- Work closely with different teams to identify and implement delivery on large projects, and operational initiatives to streamline global processes and optimise costs
- Alignment and optimisation of commercial, operational and regulatory strategic objectives
- Design and optimise global workflows in key business operations to increase scaling of operations and activities
Controls
- Reporting on business, operational and regulatory performance to local and group committees as appropriate
- Responsibility and ownership of control functions including Compliance, Finance, IT and Audit
- Knowledge of CSSF expectations of control functions including policies, processes and procedures
- Implementation and management of robust governance structures and controls, to ensure local central administration and effective management
- Responsibility and oversight of Intra-group outsourcing arrangements, and ensuring that they are managed effectively in line with Luxembourg applicable regulations and laws
Regulation
- Foster and manage a strong relationship with the CSSF
- Knowledge and operational understanding of MiCA on regulated and operational business models models, procedures and processes
- Knowledge and operational understanding of DORA on regulated and operational business models models, procedures and processes
- Experience of implementing procedures and processes according to the CSSF Circular 22/806 Outsourcing arrangements
- Experience of implementing procedures and processes according to the CSSF Circular 12/552 Central Administration, Internal Governance and Risk Management
Requirements
- Previous experience as a CSSF Authorised Manager is preferred. This role holder will need to be approved by the CSSF
- Proven experience in leadership roles within financial services, with a focus on digital assets or related fields
- Experienced in leading and operating regulated subsidiary within a global structure
- Strong understanding of the digital asset industry in Luxembourg and across the EU
- Strong understanding of the operating and regulatory models of EU-domiciled Funds, Banks and Custodians
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship management skills with the CSSF, internal management and Board and clients
- Proactive and self-driven with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment
- Based in Luxembourg or the Greater Region (i.e. Border countries Belgium, France and Germany)
- Fluent in English, with French and German as a bonus
