Team Captain Battery Systems (m/v)

You will take your first steps within our 15,000 m2 factory where we will realize our BIG ambitions. As Team Captain Battery Systems you will be one of the two leaders within the assembly of our battery systems.

What will you do as Team Captain Battery Systems?
As a Team Captain you work together with energetic colleagues in which you are responsible for a team of ~5 FTE. We see plenty of potential to expand the team to ~10 FTE in the long term because we are scaling our production! Your challenge, may you choose to accept it, lies in motivating, directing, guiding and coaching your team members. For our 10 ft. Battery Containers, we strive for standardization and you, together with your counterpart Alex, will play an important role in achieving this. You strive for an equal way of building where the goal is to work towards an F1 workshop, i.e. structure (5S), efficiency, but above all mutual trust, safety and fun! Your personal bar is high in this area and you strive for perfection! In consultation with the Production Manager, you strive for Continuous Improvement. A brief summary of your work can be found here:

  • responsible for managing, guiding, coaching and training a team of ~5 builders of our Battery Systems, this are often electricians/electrical engineers
  • creating a pleasant working atmosphere in which people work together towards the same goal and in the same way!
  • When something seems to become a problem, you know how to solve it in no time, whether it is personal or technical in nature!
  • You will also support your team in their personal development, taking the time to listen to them and provide assistance where necessary
  • You really get to know your team and that is why you provide important input in their assessments and you play an important role in further expanding the team to ~10 Battery Builders

What do we expect you will bring to Big Ass Battery?
We are looking for people with energy, you love what you do and you want to add value to the challenge we face in the field of energy transition. Furthermore, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • At least a technical vocational level (MBO) diploma in electrical engineering, mechatronics or similar
  • You have a number of years of experience in a similar role within a mechatronic environment with a focus on electrical engineering
  • You have technical insight but also have highly developed leadership, you are a motivator and inspirer with an eye for detail
  • Together with us, you also strive for perfection and for our dream image of an "F1 workshop", clean, efficient, structured, disciplined but with enough room for fun!
  • A curious mindset and the willingness to learn and proactively implement improvements within our assembly process
  • You have good communication skills in both English and Dutch
  • A bit of a cliché, but work hard, play hard may be your motto 😉
  • You bring the necessary dose of humor

What do we have to offer you?
In addition to a lot of energy and ambition, we offer a job with room for personal input, new ideas and initiative. Because in a fast-growing company you can really make a difference! We offer, among other things:

  • Based on your experience, a suitable salary between and on top of that we offer a 13th month!

About Big Ass Battery 🔋
We are Big Ass Battery; a fast-growing scale-up in the premier league of the energy transition. We build energy storage systems at the highest level: from battery cell to complete 10ft battery containers. Big Ass Battery is a Dutch company and we are located in Helmond. We didn't fit in our previous office anymore so that is why we traded up in november 2023 to our new facility of 15.000 m2 and a total surface of 41.775 m2! When you join our team, you not only contribute to the production of batteries, but you also contribute to the growth of a company with big ass ambitions. Our batteries are an important part of the solution to the current challenges we face in the energy transition. For example, you can place a Big Ass Battery at an event location or for charging electric cars. Or on a construction site where a sustainable company wants to use electric excavators and other power tools. Companies can even link a revenue model to the use of the Big Ass Battery. Agricultural companies, for example, use the Big Ass Battery for solar energy storage. In short, plenty of possibilities.
