Your mission
Our footprint in Germany is expanding! And we need an outstanding Risk Officer to support our growth. You will play a pivotal role by overseeing and executing risk management on behalf of our German Entity, as well as contributing to the Group.
As a hybrid 1st and 2nd Line role, you will work closely with our senior management and collaborate with our risk owners in order to guide the entire risk management journey from identification to mitigation.
As a member of our Group Risk Management Function, you will forge strong partnerships with colleagues in finance and compliance to ensure our business complies with all regulatory requirements. When necessary, you will engage with regulators such as BaFin and the Bundesbank, further solidifying our commitment to best practices in risk management.
What you'll do
- Lead implementation of the Group Risk Management Framework within Bitpanda’s German entity, providing challenge and oversight of risks in order to manage the entity’s risk profile.
- Produce risk management documentation to support Senior Management, including ICAAP, Risk Strategies, Risk Profiles, and localized Policies.
- Represent the Germany Entity via Bitpanda’s Risk mechanisms including Governance forums, Product Approvals, Vendor/Outsourcing reviews.
- Play a leading role in the Group Risk Management function, taking the lead in driving risk elements such as control frameworks, risk & control assessments, and risk monitoring.
- Act as the central point of contract of external / regulatory reviews. Interfacing with regulators and representing Bitpanda.
Who you are
- An experienced Risk professional, preferably having worked within financial services, financial technology or similar industries.
- Ability to work independently (when required), producing high quality deliverables relating to risk appetite, strategy, capital modeling, assessments and treatments.
- Extensive knowledge of Risk Management frameworks combined with the ability to manage risk within a face-paced environment.
- Excellent knowledge of the German regulatory landscape, with an understanding of incoming European regulation - specifically relating to MaRisk, EBA and DORA.
- A collaborative work style with full professional proficiency in written and verbal German and English: you should be able to work independently, taking ownership of your responsibilities, while also actively collaborating with colleagues.
- Financial Risk Knowledge is a 'nice-to-have' but not essential.
