The role of the Project Engineer is to be the main liaison between all departments and customers. To bring communication and efficiency to the project by ensuring that all departments work together to hit the project targets.

Main tasks
- Constructing and managing project timing plans for each project, from conception through to design release
- Work with customers and Section Owners to ensure project specific plans are aligned and timed accordingly
- Supporting Junior designers with technical queries in both materials and CATIA V5 (V6) structures for parametric modelling
- Work closely with Section Owners to ensure they manage the workload of themselves and their team efficiently
- Ensure the Section Owners have clear targets and requirements
- Manage technical requirements vs workload to a schedule, maintain active communication in an agile environment of adherence to project plans and set targets
- Managing of the design-technology convergence process for the owned zone
- Managing of the zone meetings and documentation of the results
- Organizing and implementing of regular interface coordination with the adjacent zones
- Positioning of components and modules in the vehicle zone, integration of variants
- Installation studies
- Discussing conflicting goals or collisions and development of solutions
- Good networking and cooperation with the component and module developers
- Leveraging on cloud based collaborative platforms such as MS Office suite and Cloud project management tools
- Maintain an up-to-date technical awareness of the business requirements
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the company policy and standards
- Work closely with all departments during the build phase of the project to help resolve any build/assembly issues
- Work according to the requirements of the drawing office control system
- Plan resource requirements and feedback to Head of Programs if changes to resource are required
- Create and track progress of the following customer documents as required:
- DRC’s
- ECR’s
- Concessions
- Work instructions
- Attend and support customer and custom suppliers BCR meetings. Ensuring all tasks falling under your department are met.
- Support customer procurement team
- Data entry & integration into the companies ERP system as required
- Design components as required, depending on your own workload
- Assist Head of Programs in producing company technical documents and procedures
- BOM management
- Report on engineering development changes that will affect production
Skills you will need
- Engineering Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 2 years engineering industry experience in a similar position
- Experience managing a minimum of two design engineers
- Experience being technical support interface with the customer
- Experience completing final review and approval of technical designs
- Broad understanding and experience of designing components for F1 and/ or hypercars (structural, body panels, etc.), and tooling applications using CATIA V5 (V6).
- Good work practice of surfaces and solids.
- Broad understanding of CATIA V5 (V6) functions and the structuring of Generator files, publications and save management structure for large master product files
- Experience in drafting of drawings using CATIA V5 (V6) for component, tooling, jigs and fixtures to support manufacturing requirements.
- Understanding of the applications of GD&T and process limitations
- Excellent time management and leadership skills
Skills that would be great to have
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
- Fluent in project planning software. (MS Project or similar)
