What You Will Do
- Utilize CAD software to design automotive stamped parts, focusing on Side Panel, Cantrail, Bodyside Inner, Tailgate Panels; also A, B, C and D Pillar.
- Take ownership of design projects from inception to completion, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct feasibility assessments of stamped parts in Steel/Body in White (BiW) environments, evaluating joining techniques such as welding or riveting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality assurance, and product development to optimize designs for production efficiency and quality.
- Provide technical expertise and support throughout the design process, addressing any challenges or issues that arise.
- Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in stamping technology, and emerging design methodologies to enhance product performance and innovation.
What You Need To Succeed
- At least 5 years of experience working in a similar position
- Automotive background or designing of production lines for machinery
- Good knowledge and experience of Catia v5 / 3DX
- Knowledge of GD&T principles
- Proficiency in CAD software, with experience designing automotive stamped parts preferred.
- Strong understanding of stamp parts feasibility in Steel/BiW environments.
- Knowledge of welding and riveting techniques for joining stamped parts.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality designs on time and within budget.
- Proficient English.
Desirable Skills
- FEA and/or CFD experience
- Vast knowledge of materials used in motorsport and aerospace applications (metallic alloys/technical polymers/composites)
