As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, your primary role will involve design and development of mechanical components and assemblies tailored specifically for the chassis in motorsport applications. Leveraging your expertise in Catia V6, you'll take charge of the entire process, from conceptualization to realization. This encompasses the meticulous design and refinement of critical components such as pedals, steering mechanisms, and suspension systems. Your proficiency in Catia V6 will enable you to navigate complex design challenges with ease, ensuring the seamless integration of these components into the overall chassis architecture. What You Will Do
- Designing mechanical components tailored for high-performance race cars, ensuring optimal functionality and adherence to performance requirements.
- Managing performance and reliability tests to validate the functionality and durability of designed components under extreme conditions.
- Collaborating closely with other departments and external suppliers to synergize efforts and achieve the optimal performance and efficiency of the race car.
- Identify the areas for improvement and innovation in mechanical design and performance testing processes.
- Providing technical expertise and support to cross-functional teams, contributing to the overall advancement and success of race car development initiatives.
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulations, and safety protocols throughout the design, testing, and implementation phases.
- Continuously monitoring and evaluating the performance of mechanical components, implementing enhancements and modifications as needed to enhance race car performance and reliability.
What You Need To Succeed
- Mechanical Engineering Degree or equivalent R&D design experience
- Minimum 10 years of professional working experience working in a similar position
- Motorsport background
- Previous experience in designing mechanical components for chassis, steering and/or suspension
- Hands-on experience using CATIA for advanced surface design and robust model construction
- Ability to maintain a structured and organized design tree within CATIA for efficient model management
- Familiar with GD&T principles
- FIA Regulatory Understanding
- Proficient in English
