What is this role about? 

Are you an experienced legal professional with a background in credit or lending businesses, ready to take on the challenge of leading legal operations in our Expansions team? Bondora is seeking a dynamic individual to join us in our mission to expand into new markets and drive our global growth. As the Head of Legal for our New Markets team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our entry into new markets 

Your tasks: 

  • Map out the legal framework and market entry requirements for new markets. 
  • Select and communicate with legal partners to facilitate market entry processes. 
  • Lead licensing processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. 
  • Identify opportunities to adapt our business model to local regulations. 
  • Prepare all necessary documentation for commencing business operations in new markets. 
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including FSA rules, across Bondora Group companies.

What would ensure success in this role?

  • At least 3 years of experience in a credit or lending company in a senior legal position 
  • Proven experience working cross-jurisdictionally, ideally including markets such as Latvia, Lithuania, Sweden, Denmark, or Spain (at least one).  
  • Preferably, a background of at least two years in a law bureau. 
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English
