FINANCE DIRECTOR

About Climate X

Climate X is the world’s only fully integrated climate risk platform, helping financial institutions and asset managers to price, manage and build resilience to climate change impacts themselves and for their customers.

To do this, Climate X created a suite of products to assess, manage and adapt to climate risks:

  • Spectra: This tool projects changing trends of extreme weather events and impacts to physical properties, including financial losses until the year 2100 across different warming scenarios. Spectra has been developed by PhD-level climate scientists utilising best-in-class scientific methods. It combines hazard modelling with building integrity data and local infrastructure (road, rail, and power) to compute financial impacts. This helps businesses prepare for and mitigate climate impacts.
  • Carta: A unique global mapping tool for corporate assets. Carta lists the locations of physical assets for any organisation. It helps banks with exposure to corporates to quantify the full extent of climate risks of all their clients’ facilities, like warehouses, stores, and offices. This information helps companies to prepare better for impacts of climate change and to protect their businesses. Carta is the only solution of this type that exists on the market.
  • Adapt: This innovative module allows clients to effectively manage, assess, and lessen the effects of physical risks in their housing, business, and corporate lending portfolios. For any major physical risk identified, users can simulate the impact of different adaptation measures to defend against physical risks and quantify the ROI in taking those actions.

Backstory

The founders of Climate X come from the world of risk and model building, having worked for combined 30 years in stress-testing functions of several banks and consultancies including HSBC, Barclays, or Accenture. They noticed a need for reliable data when it came to climate risk specifically, a new field that was becoming more relevant.

The urgency became clear in 2020 when, during the economic standstill caused by COVID-19, the UK faced its wettest February since 1920, resulting in significant flooding and financial loss. Traditional risk models proved inadequate, prompting the founders to create a more reliable solution.

Leveraging their understanding of the necessary data, applications, and regulations, they built Climate X offering tailored for the banking and real estate sectors, aiming to protect communities and the economies they support.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
