Job Summary 

We are seeking a Senior RPA Developer with a strong analytical mindset and product development experience, who will join the Digital Solutions team to lead automations of the operations application stack through the development of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or other technology solutions that will improve the efficiency and quality of service to our customers.  

The role requires expertise using UiPath, and experience of automating solutions on web, Citrix, and desktop applications with direct experience in delivering within an agile Software Development environment.  The role is responsible for the full design and build lifecycle of the solution, including providing ongoing support of deployed automations / bots and resolve any issues, including the migration away from legacy macro VBA automations. 

This is a senior role that will contribute to the evaluation of candidate business processes for automation suitability, working with solution and business analysts to perform problem investigation, provide recommendations, define requirements, and provide inputs to the design of innovative solutions in accordance with standard design principles and conventions, before building and operating.  The role operates with a high level of autonomy within the team and practices reasoned judgment.

  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary team of operation analysts, engineering, business analysts, product management & Infosec to assess and deliver new automation solutions that provide customer value 
  • Identify gaps and constraints associated with business requirements, working with solution architect translate into technical requirements 
  • Complete the development, testing and deployment of RPA solutions – defining testing strategies and scenario reviews with project teams 
  • Support the operations of the robots and automations, ensuring operational effectiveness, and responding to and fixing any issues 
  • Develop proof-of-concepts, documenting results and recommendations 
  • Defect tracking and resolution 
  • Provide technical guidance to junior developers

Automation Centre of Excellence 

  • Develop, maintain, and embed tools, standards and practices in how we work, using them to ensure robust, repeatable framework for execution 
  • Conduct peer code and process reviews to ensure the highest level of quality is being produced within team 
  • Lead and execute the migration of legacy systems and automations to modern platforms: Ensure a smooth transition from older technologies (e.g., VBA, macros) to more advanced automation solutions like UiPath, minimizing downtime and ensuring operational continuity. 
  • Identify and document process flows, procedures, rules governing development life-cycle 
  • Serve as a technical expert for RPA and BPM tools 
  • Support RPA environment operations and maintenance; logging, monitoring, auditing & reporting of RPA performance 
  • Contribute to the evaluation and technical integration of other automation technologies  
  • Contribute to identifying and analysing future workload and automation opportunities

Experience and Qualifications  

  • 2+ years’ experience in developing automation solutions using UiPath or similar RPA technology 
  • 3-5 years’ professional coding experience with Python, VB.NET, VBA  or C# is desirable  
  • Should have knowledge with working with databases including SQL Server, Snowflake etc 
  • Experience with project management tools for agile environments (such as JIRA or Trello). 
  • Experience with version control systems (such as Git). 
  • Data analysis and process optimization skills (Power BI, Tableau, etc.). 
  • Knowledge of AWS and deploying automation solutions on native cloud services is desirable 
  • Experience with crafting detailed Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), specific to building Robotic Process Automations, and training briefs for junior developers 
  • Experience with emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Machine Learning (ML), particularly in integrating them into automation processes. 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and interact efficiently with multi-disciplinary teams 
  • Experience within a corporate environment with multi-site operations 
  • Experience working in global work settings, including excellent communication skills, the use of virtual project management tools, leading virtual meetings/workshops, and other work exercises
