Business Development Manager

 

About the role

The Business Development Manager in the Growth Payments vertical will have end-to-end responsibility for the development and strategic growth of the Singapore business. Our Business Development Managers are expected to consistently achieve prospecting, pipeline and revenue targets, to deliver new, long term trading customers to Convera. Some of the key responsibilities to achieve this include:

  • Initiate proactive prospecting activities to identify and engage new opporunitites for Convera. These activities will include attending self-identified and company supported networking events, leveraging professional networks and cold outreach.
  • Influence key decision makers in the sales and finance function of SME and Corporate prospects.
  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to deliver excellent commercial outcomes to Convera.
  • Manage key internal stakeholders, such as foreign exchange dealers, hedging experts and credit analysts to assist in progressing opportunities and executing on strategic plans.
  • Develop exceptional commercial acumen that will position you as a trusted advisor in the payments and foreign exchange risk management space. This includes an understanding of financial markets, industry trends, legislative requirements and broader economic themes.
  • This role is hybrid, split between WFH, and our modern central Singapore office.

 

The ideal candidate

 

  • You will be a hungry self-starter with a tenacious approach to new business acquisition.
  • B2B sales experience (3 years +) preferably in payments/FX industry or financial services/fintech.
  • Demonstrated success at managing new pipeline, progressing opportunities and closing new business deals to consistently achieve targets.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other members of the go to market team, who will be heavily invested in your success.
  • Be growth minded, with a desire to learn abstract concepts and be open to different perspectives.
  • We will only consider candidates for this role who have existing ongoing working rights in Australia
