Principal Business Development Manager - New York Metro
As Principal Business Development Manager for Convera in New York you will primarily be responsible for selling FX payment, hedging products and API solutions to institutional clients and family offices. You will be responsible for the end-to-end process of bringing in new clients, from lead generation to closing and maintaining the client relationship. You will also spend about 15% of your time managing a team of Business Development Managers focused on alternative investment fund clients.
You will be responsible for:
- Sourcing, onboarding and managing clients in the alternative investment space.
- Leading a team of Business Development Managers and determining tactics to grown revenues from team.
- Influencing clients, from the Managing Partners, to CFOs and Treasurers of new and established Fund Managers on benefits of executing spot and hedging needs through Convera.
- Consulting with AIFs, on their currency requirements, risk profile and payment solutions whilst progressing towards securing sustainable, profitable relationships.
- Performing market analysis, attending on and offline events and generating sufficient pipeline to ensure financial targets are achieved.
- Managing the full sales-cycle from lead sourcing, nurturing and on-boarding through to managing growth of the relationship to incorporate future investments within target clients’ fund structures
- Collaborating with colleagues from different departments within Convera.
- This role will be fully remote with travel as needed
You should apply if you have:
- Deep understanding of financial markets. Foreign Exchange knowledge is specifically required.
- A track record working in, or selling into, the AIF ecosystem
- A reliable and transferable client base within AIF ecosystem (preferred)
- Experienced using the principles of consultative selling and customer acquisition (including networking events, trade fairs, cold calling, etc.)
- Advanced sales management skills, with the ability to lead a sales team effectively while also meeting your own sales goals
- Ambitious, self-motivated, confident with high integrity and tenacity to outperform the competition.
- Financial acumen with knowledge of business needs for AIF clients
- Ability to demonstrate success in new business sales of regulated products in a dynamic environment with consistent demonstration of achieving or exceeding targets.
- Demonstrable skills of executive corporate level negotiations and ability to build long-term client relationships.
- Ability to work individually, and to collaborate with others in a fast-paced, team environment, making quick decisions, and managing timelines.
- Previous, demonstrated experience, working towards key performance indicators and individual targets to achieve weekly, quarterly, and annual goals.
