We are looking for an exceptional Director, Transformation that has strong experience making change happen by being data & insights-led, a strong communicator and an empathetic influencer. There are many backgrounds that successful candidates could draw from – some of the most common ones include management consulting, product/program management, and internal corporate strategy roles. The candidate should be excited to be part of leading this function for the organization.
Responsibilities
- Be a critical leader in helping Convera transform into one of the premier business payments and FX platforms in the world
- Manage a highly ambitious, complex, and cross-functional transformation program
- Drive informed decision-making on competing priorities to optimize overall results and outcomes
- Manage execution of the corporate transformation program, taking a more direct and greater leadership role on priority initiatives partnering with leaders across the org
- Stress test initiatives to help ensure they are robust and truly drive better customer delivery, growth, productivity and margin improvement
- Bring visibility to resource and budget plans, escalating risks and making recommendations to executives as needed
- Lead management of cross-functional dependencies, stepping in to drive resolution as needed
- Lead progress tracking and reporting, including raising key issues to executives
- Track transformation initiative results & impacts
- Teach the business what "good looks like" in terms of presenting data-informed arguments for choices to be made; provide coaching/mentorship to help upskill the org
- Coach teams across the org on how to crisply frame a problem, and develop clear recommendations to facilitate efficient decision-making by the C-suite and Board
- Show teams how to use structured logic, and insights from data-led research/analyses to inform potential paths and trade-offs
- Be a self-motivated go-getter who is willing to take on work outside your comfort zone, and works well in ambiguity
- Be highly data/insights-led - laying out the evidence when presenting recommendations to the C-suite and other senior leaders to make choices
- Be a culture-carrier as a critical member of an empowered and enthusiastic team who partners well throughout the organization
Required Qualifications
- Strong experience in transformation, strategy and/or program management (12+ years total work experience preferred)
- Experience in B2B payments, FX, banking and/or the Fintech space preferred
- Highly structured ways of working and outstanding problem solving skills with an emphasis on data-driven decision making, even when you don't have all the data
- Able to take complicated questions, break them down, and analyze complex quantitative and qualitative inputs to make recommendations
- Strong communication skills - able to present arguments simply & logically, including use of verbal and written communication to express ideas clearly and succinctly
- Strong influencing & interpersonal skills - you earn respect and can execute through influence; able to build productive and positive relationships at all levels across the org
- Ability to both think strategically and have a practical bias for action with an "ownership" mentality; will deep dive to drive execution in a fast-paced environment
- Practical in how to execute the transformation agenda - willing to work hands on to help coach teams on best approaches to deliver results
- Strong mentoring/coaching capabilities -> able to develop internal talent and attract strong new talent
- Ability to teach others what data-led, pragmatic decision-making looks like and how to present logical arguments to senior leaders / C-suite
- Humble, can-do attitude with a learning mindset and ability to thrive in ambiguity; you are intellectually curious, have a passion for excellence and want to make a big impact
- Works well in a fast-paced fintech, PE backed environment
- Proficient in PowerPoint, Excel and Word - skilled in business logic development, analytics/modeling and communication to executive audiences
- Bachelor's degree or MBA preferred from an accredited educational institution
- Able to travel as required
Preferred Qualifications
Below are nice-to-have qualifications, but not required:
- MBA or other advanced degree
- Experience working in the SaaS, tech, financial service or payments industry
- A good working knowledge of global B2B payments and complex foreign exchange (FX) products
- Prior experience at a top tier consulting firm (e.g. Bain, BCG, McKinsey) or tech / Fintech company (e.g. Amazon, Stripe) a plus
