Delivery Operations Associate

THE ROLE
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Delivery Operations Associate to oversee the allocation of consultants within our organization. You will be working with our Head of Delivery and Team Leads to determine project and people requirements, review changing requirements with project managers, collaborating with multiple teams within our organization to assign the right staff to the right projects as well as participating in hiring planning.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in resource management, capacity planning, and scheduling, with the ability to optimize resource utilization while meeting client demands and project deadlines. This role requires strong communication skills and an understanding of technical services consulting, as you will collaborate closely with project managers, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure optimal staffing levels and resource allocation.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Capacity Planning: Develop and implement strategies for effective capacity planning to ensure that the organization has the right mix of skills and resources to meet client demands.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of consultants to projects based on their skills, availability, and project requirements. Coordinate with project managers to understand project timelines and resource needs.
- Scheduling: Create and maintain detailed schedules for consultants, ensuring that each individual is assigned to projects in a manner that optimizes their productivity and minimizes downtime.
- Forecasting: Forecast future resource requirements based on project pipelines, business trends, and client demands. Proactively identify potential capacity constraints and develop mitigation strategies.
- Utilization Analysis: Monitor and analyze consultant utilization rates, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and utilization across the organization. Provide regular reports and insights to management on resource utilization and capacity trends.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and refine capacity planning and scheduling processes to streamline operations and improve efficiency. Identify and implement tools and systems to support effective resource management.
Requirements
- Proven experience in capacity planning, resource management, or workforce planning, preferably in a consulting or professional services environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience using Salesforce PSA and CPQ modules as they pertain to projects, milestones and assignments
Bonus points for (but not essential!):
- Prior experience in start-up / scale-up.
- Agile Project Management, Prince2 or Scrum experience
