The Facilities manager is the ultimate organiser, ensuring that Dermalogica HQ has the most suitable working environment and meets the needs of employees and the business by managing all required services, emphasising safety and effectiveness for all visitors, students, and consumers. 

The post holder will be very hands-on, with primary responsibility for managing services that support the facilities of Dermalogica, including building maintenance, health and safety, and contract management, all requiring a proactive and hands-on approach.

 

The responsibilities of the Facilities Manager…. Could this be you?

  • Maintaining building maintenance in line with company standards for Dermalogica HQ, liaising with the DDC, Retail & Education.
  • Ensuring buildings meet health and safety requirements and cleaning procedures, including compliance with legislation such as PAT testing, ESOS audits, Health and Safety Audits and all associated building audits.
  • Responding appropriately to all emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and taking hands-on action to resolve them.
  • Coordinating the work of any contractors used at Dermalogica HO, overseeing their activities to ensure quality and compliance. Full Liaison with the Landlord to ensure all requirements are met.
  • Oversee training and responsibilities of Fire Marshals and First Aiders across locations.
  • Working with the team to ensure the office is opened in the absence of the Reception & Office Executive, ensuring continuity of service. Alarm code holder.
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies personally.
  • Costing and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money, actively seeking cost-effective solutions. Contract management and negotiating.
  • Directing, coordinating, and maintaining essential central services such as sanitary waste, waste disposal, and recycling, etc. personally overseeing these activities.
  • Sourcing and maintaining facility security, taking a hands-on approach to ensure the safety of all staff and visitors. Understanding of current building, health, and safety regulations
  • Keeping staff safe through proactive health and safety management and enforcement of safety protocols.
  • Ensuring correct insurance is employed and maintained in every facility, actively managing insurance matters.
  • Sourcing and planning the best allocation and utilisation of space and resources for new buildings or reorganising current premises, actively involved in space planning and management.
  • Keeping a record of company leases and liaising with Finance and legal counsel on rate reviews etc.
  • Work with IT to ensure that the Disaster recovery list is live and up to date.

 

 

Do you have the below skills?

  • Previous administration & contract management experience.
  • Previous building or facilities management.
  • Proven relationship building skills.
  • Proven experience managing the health and safety of facilities, with a hands-on approach to safety enforcement.
  • Proactive and highly organised, approaching each task in a systematic and timely manner, with a willingness to get hands-on.
  • A team player, always happy to get hands-on and lead by example.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and everything in between, with a hands-on approach to communication.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking skill with strong attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles / planning and maintaining budgets
  • Occasionally some manual heavy lifting may be required, so the ability to lift heavy objects and do other labour-intensive tasks is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of HVAC and other building systems desired, but not essential
  • HND or foundation degree in facilities management is desired but not essential.
  • H&S experience essential, qualification is preferable.
