About The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior QA Engineer to join our Christchurch based Product Development Team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Product Development, you will engage with our internal engineering and delivery teams and with our customers to ensure quality assurance of the products and solutions that meet the needs of an ever-evolving supply chain and logistics industry. You will work in a small agile team of highly motivated professionals and deliver world class solutions leveraging products on the latest mobile and cloud-based technologies.

ABOUT YOU

Working both independently and within a team this role is responsible for overseeing the testing of the product and ensuring that the quality objectives for releases are met.  This includes testing the product releases to a high-quality level, liaising with internal and external stakeholders on the quality assurance related aspects of the product.

              

The postholder will be responsible for the testing of changes to existing functionality as well as the testing of new features. The Senior QA Engineer will take ownership of key areas of the product including delegating testing tasks to other team members, mentoring others and liaising with the developers in respect to QA related items.  Furthermore, the Senior QA Engineer will be liaising with the Product Owner and other teams on understanding of functionality, reproducing issues and providing best practice guidance on the product functionality when applicable.

 

The role will be part of a team looking after an established product within the group providing solutions used throughout e2open, as well as working with many other teams within the company including professional services, integration platform and architecture.

 

The role demands a highly motivated individual who is able to work as part of a team as well as independently as required.  The position requires a level of technical development knowledge for the purposes of testing including test scripting and implementing performance and automation scripts.

Essential

  • Proven experience as a software tester with knowledge of best practices in defect management, test planning, test case preparation and execution
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal are essential as you will be leading demonstrations and preparing technical documents
  • Ability to contribute to the estimating and proposal process for all product development (resources & timescales)
  • An aptitude from problem solving and a methodical approach to root cause analysis of issues
  • Proven record of applying both manual testing and test automation approaches to detect issues
  • Keep abreast of computing technology and industry changes; through the use of public/online resources, and attendance at product/vendor or academic seminars as required
  • RESTful JSON/XML and Web API testing experience
  • Experience working with databases, ideally Microsoft SQL, ability to write SQL queries
  • Setup and configuration of Windows Server based testing environments
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience as a tester
  • Willingness and ability to travel (predominantly to Australia, Singapore and within New Zealand)

Desirable

  • Experience working within an agile team (Scrum or Kanban) and agile project delivery as a vendor a huge advantage
  • Mobile testing experience Android / iOS
  • Familiarity with Cloud technologies (Amazon AWS/Microsoft Azure)
  • Azure DevOps, Git, Confluence, Jira
  • Some experience with C# .NET development
  • Postal, Courier, Logistics or Supply Chain experience
  • Tertiary degree and/or recognised test qualification (ISTQB)
