Internal Audit Manager

London - 4 days in the office, 1 day working from Home 

Key Responsibilities:

The Audit Manager will report to the Deputy Head of Internal Audit. 

The role will encompass and have the following principal responsibilities:

  • Assist in ensuring GIA successfully executes the planned Audits as set out in the Internal Audit plan (and agreed by the Board'), and that the audits and reviews carried out offer real challenge, insight and oversight of the business.
  • Lead the delivery of all audit phases (planning, execution, and draft reporting) of audits including those of a complex nature, ensuring timely, complete and accurate outputs.Prepare detailed value-adding and insightful audit reports, ensuring factual accuracy is agreed.
  • Perform follow-up/validation of previous recommendations as and when required.
  • Managing stakeholder communications throughout the audit process, including effective communication of audit results and recommendations to stakeholders at all levels, including executive management.
  • Contribute as an experienced Audit Manager to the Group Internal Audit risk assessment and Audit Plan. This will include conducting continuous risk monitoring ensuring that risk assessments are up to date and accurate.
  • Stay on top of any developments in the general market, economic and regulatory environment and address changes that could impact the Internal Audit framework and the broader strategy in the business.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the Global/ Deputy Head of Internal Audit
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and professional development within the audit team.
  • Support the wider GIA team as and when required, by assisting with departmental initiatives as directed by the Head of Audit / Deputy.
  • Embedding the use of data as part of our core audit processes (risk assessment and planning, audit execution, continuous monitoring).
  • Verifying that controls relating to major systems and their implementation are in place and operating effectively and assisting in conducting special reviews to provide assurance at the direction of Board or other relevant Senior Stakeholders.
  • Support the production of management reporting with an ability to summarise and produce compelling messaging for delivery into senior committees, including updates to the Board Audit Committee.  
  • Capture and document supporting IA materials which are required to demonstrate the IA methodology and approach.

Required Skills / Education: 

  • ACCA / ACA or IIA qualified with 3-4 year’s experience within Audit
  • Relevant experience in auditing, risk management, or compliance, preferably within the fintech or financial services industry.
  • Desired - Payments and international transactions experience 
  • Proven experience in conducting complex audits, risk assessments, and control evaluations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Be ready and willing to support peers to meet pre-agreed (and sometimes challenging) deadlines.
