As a Payroll Specialist, you will be an integral part of our Global Payroll Team, servicing over 28 countries with a specific focus on our Brazilian employees but will be also responsible for additional countries in the LATAM and NORAM region. You will manage end-to-end payroll processing, ensure compliance with statutory regulations, and contribute to process improvements.

This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and effective communication with various stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Payroll Processing:
    - End-to-end processing of bi-monthly and monthly payrolls as part of a small team;
    - Prepare, double-check, cross-check, review, and analyze payrolls according to established deadlines;
    - Ensure the timely submission of payroll inputs to our third-party payroll provider;
    - Maintain all documentation within historical payroll files.

  • Control Framework and Documentation:
    - Analyze and document each country's control framework and payroll processing guidelines;
    - Regularly review payroll processes and procedures to ensure efficiency and reliability.

  • Compliance and Regulation:
    - Ensure compliance with local payroll tax laws and company policies;
    - Stay updated with regulatory changes affecting payrolls to maintain accuracy;
    - Respond to regulatory agency inquiries and complete necessary documentation.

  • Financials, Audits, and Reporting:
    - Perform reconciliations and audit tasks for monthly payrolls;
    - Support Finance teams with month-end close and reporting activities;
    - Manage outputs such as payroll journals, GL files, and ad-hoc reporting;
    - Ensure all reporting and data are completed timely.
  • Stakeholder Management:
    - Manage relationships with stakeholders (e.g., Finance, HR) and the payroll provider to ensure end-to-end process excellence;
    - Partner with your Lead to recommend new approaches, policy, and procedure changes for continuous improvement.

  •  Project Support and Issue Resolution:
    - Provide ad hoc project support as needed;
    - Address all escalated and critical payroll-related issues promptly;
    - Collaborate with the Payroll team and Lead to provide additional processing/transaction support as needed.

  • Candidate Profile:
    - At least 5 years of experience in processing payroll across multiple countries;
    - Prior Brazilian payroll processing experience in a high-growth, product or service-led company;
  • - Experience in payroll in banking industry would be a plus;
  •  - Experience working with a global payroll provider/system;
  •  - Experience with manual processes undergoing automation transformation.

 

  • Skills and Abilities:
    - Proficiency in preparing, processing, correcting, and auditing various aspects of payroll;
    - Advanced skills in Excel, including pivot tables, v-lookup, and other formulas;
    - Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask;
    - Excellent communication skills in English and Portuguese (other languages are a plus);
    - Strong problem-solving mindset with a positive attitude;
    - Detail-oriented with a strong appreciation of data and analytics;
    - Ability to take ownership of payroll processes;
    - Collaborative and able to build strong relationships based on trust and mutual respect;
    - Adaptable and able to work effectively with both ambiguity and certainty.
