Sustainability Data Associate

Position

EQT continues to grow its sustainability capabilities and is now looking to hire a driven Sustainability data and project manager to the Group Sustainability team. In this role you will work to accelerate a key part of EQT’s sustainability strategy, which is to increase data-led decision-making and integrated reporting. You will be close to the back-end of the sustainability data engine, flowing from portfolio companies and assets ensuring that the sustainability data model is robust and fit-for purpose for the various use-cases and stakeholders. Further, your role is to put the numbers in perspective for key decision-making, presentations and finally, work to evaluate market and regulatory developments to ensure we are at the forefront.
This role is Stockholm-based, will report to the Head of Corporate Sustainability and be a part of the Group Sustainability team. You will be working closely with the Associate Director of Sustainability Data & Performance, ESG data controllers across the business lines, thematic experts and other specialist functions such as Tech, Valuations, Client Relations & Capital Raising and Finance.

Core Responsibilities

  • Support the collection and follow-up of sustainability-data in the EQT ecosystem with a focus on generating relevant, reliable and decision-useful sustainability/ESG data insights 
  • Grounded in data, produce and support internal and external communication messages, presentations and reports of EQT’s sustainability initiatives and progress, to various stakeholders for several channels
  • Lead or contribute to firmwide sustainability projects on various topics, with or without sustainability data angle, requiring project management and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Continuously assess market developments and analyze sustainability/ESG performance to identify potential gaps, new opportunities/risks and drive organizational improvements, and ultimately positive impact

Skills and Experience 

  • 2-4 years of experience in management consulting, business analyst or similar position
  • Relevant educational background, most likely M.Sc. in Finance, Business Administration or similar or Engineering
  • Good understanding of the financial services industry, financial reporting and the emerging responsible investment/sustainable finance landscape
  • Exposure to sustainability frameworks, regulations (e.g. SFDR and CSRD) and protocols (GHG protocol being a plus)
  • Open-minded, curious, and a self-starter, with the ability to independently drive processes and manage projects forward with high integrity and accountability
  • Strong project management skills: planning, executing and diligently following up 
  • Aptitude for critical and creative thinking across the quantitative and qualitative spectrum with a genuine interest in sustainability, sustainable finance and leveraging data/technology to future-proof decision-making and actions
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to synthesize key messages and visualize data for presentations and reports etc.
  • Excellent technical skills including Microsoft Office, Google suite and other digital tools - intellectual curiosity and ability to learn/develop new tools. Experience in BI tools and SQL/programming is a plus. 
  • Languages – Fluent in English
