Longitude is a thought leadership specialist that is part of the Financial Times Group. We are looking to recruit a skilled, enthusiastic and resourceful Research Executive to join our dynamic, fast-growing team. 

The Role / Position Overview

The successful candidate will help to spec and cost research projects, and work with internal teams and fieldwork vendors to manage projects through the fieldwork stages. They will be responsible for ensuring high levels of data quality. This role is ideal for a current Research Executive who is looking to develop their skills in research and vendor management, with opportunities to lead initiatives within the team, and to develop within the company. This role reports to the Research Operations Manager. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting our commercial team in winning new business. This includes:
    • Helping shape research specifications that deliver on our clients’ objectives, while still being commercially attractive for the business;
    • Sourcing, evaluating and challenging third-party fieldwork quotes from various vendors.
  • Managing a range of projects through the field, prioritising quality at all stages. This includes: 
    • Successfully running complex and flagship projects; 
    • Managing the scripting, translations and programming of CATI and CAWI surveys, via our third-party vendors;
    • Ensuring the delivery of accurate data tables and charts, in line with agreed data specifications;
    • Successfully applying quality assurance processes to ensure that projects are completed to the high standards required; 
    • Working with fieldwork suppliers and internal teams to ensure that research projects are delivered on/under budget.
  • Proactively working on team and company initiatives. This includes: 
    • Proactively working towards Research Operations KPIs; 
    • Supporting with relationship management of third party fieldwork vendors; 
    • Proactively sharing relevant research and client knowledge with team members;  
    • Owning team initiatives and taking responsibility for continuous improvement within the Research Operations Team; 
    • Working with colleagues across teams to progress company initiatives; 
    • Helping to support efforts to optimise and/or innovate research-related processes.  

Required Skills / Experience 

  • Ideally some experience within a research environment and can demonstrate how they’ve contributed to achieving client or project objectives
  • Ideally around 1-2 years professional experience
  • Has a professional communication style, is motivated and adaptable
  • Organised, detail-oriented, motivated, professional and adaptable.

Longitude currently operates a hybrid working approach where team members split their time between our registered office and home. Team members are required to come into the office to attend regular team meetings, company town halls, away days, and other collaborative sessions. The frequency of these will vary from role to role and you will be made aware in advance if attendance is mandatory. We will be flexible and accommodate personal circumstances where appropriate. During the probationary period, new starters are expected to come into the office for at least two days per week as part of their induction process.
