Alpha Grid

Alpha Grid is an agency specialising in multi-platform content for elite audiences – business, financial and societal leaders and high net worth individuals.  We produce editorial and commercial content, which is journalistic in nature – video, events, webinars, digital, print, social and more. We specialise in helping companies to use content to engage hard-to-reach decision makers in key markets globally.


The Role / Position Overview

The Executive Producer is a senior specialist storyteller and journalist with extensive knowledge of video production and global business trends. The Executive Producer is a team manager, managing the workloads of the team, and guiding colleagues to ensure that the creative output of the department is of the highest quality.  

As an Executive Producer you would be expected to:

Produce and direct video productions and other forms of content (including but not limited to interactive infographics, podcasts and articles) independently, with responsibility for their completion, on time, on budget and to a high quality. This is likely to include:

  • Working with clients to develop a content strategy across a suite of deliverables
  • Sourcing and developing original ideas and stories, and determining the formats in which they should be executed
  • Managing multiple projects across all aspects of production from beginning to end including: creative and content development, briefing specialists such as animators and designers, client handling, budget planning and distribution strategy
  • Liaising with key clients, the FT and other suppliers if relevant, to keep everybody updated on our progress and to channel our work through their approval processes
  • Building a strong rapport with clients to inspire confidence on every project
  • Writing sophisticated content proposals, video scripts, podcasts and infographics
  • Directing video shoots and post production – this may require travel and flexible working hours
  • Commissioning and working with journalists, animators, talent and other freelance specialists
  • Acting as the creative lead for the department and on the projects assigned to you
  • Assisting the leadership team in optimising our creative strategy by staying up to date on content trends, and proposing original ideas and new formats

You will ensure the smooth running of the department by overseeing the work of the Senior Producers, Producers, Production Assistants and Production Manager. This will include:

  • Managing production allocation based on capabilities required for the project
  • Supervising the producers assigned to you and ensure they achieve client satisfaction on every project by meeting (and in many cases exceeding) the terms of the brief
  • Ensuring the producers are successfully undertaking their required administrative duties on every project such as: budget and scheduling, call sheets, risks assessments, permission agreements
  • Serving as a level of quality control on every project you supervise by reviewing all content before it goes to a client
  • Mentoring the team to grow their production skills
  • Inspiring confidence and guiding the team to constantly push the creative boundaries
