Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Execute marketing plans in key markets to fulfil audience conversion goals from engagement to acquisition to retention. Using a mix of channels which include but are not limited to paid media, direct response, owned media, experiential and partnerships

  • Support and implement various online and offline marketing tactics in Japan to generate new business leads and trials from top prospects and increase engagement

  • Manage relationship for APAC and Japan marketing agencies, set and monitor target and provide B2B and B2C marketing support

  • Work with colleagues globally to develop process and best practice for campaigns to recruit new readers, trialist and enterprise clients and promote FT content

  • Work hand in hand with B2B Sales and CSM, B2C Customer Care and marketing operations departments to ensure appropriate set up of landing pages and fulfilment campaign processes

  • Strong communication skills and excellent copywriting to B2B/B2C targeted audiences in Japanese and translation both ways (Japanese > English)

  • Use customer research and insight to develop sales tools such as case studies, collateral, presentations to support the sales effort

  • Reporting and analysis to evaluate and improve the efficiencies of the marketing channels used, keeping track of CPA, conversion rates and the tracking of campaign metrics.

Competencies and Skills

  • Knowledge of CRM systems and email automation platforms, such as Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua etc.

  • Has a meticulous nature with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Japanese

  • Analytical and detail-oriented

  • Comfortable working with data, and possesses the analytical skills to contribute to the planning process

  • An excellent understanding of customer journeys and current marketing and advertising in both B2B and B2C practices

  • Solid project management experience – able to follow and manage processes from development to execution in a timely manner.

  • Ability to convey clear and convincing verbal and written communication to individuals or groups effectively taking into account the audience and nature of information being presented.

  • Problem Solving – ability to identify problems; determine accuracy and relevance of information; use sound judgement to generate and evaluate alternatives and make recommendations.

  • Team Player – ability to work in an agile environment spanning several time zones and different stakeholders across a global media business

APPENDIX

B2C

  • Build Knowledge & Expertise: understanding target audience and our position within the market to ensure we remain competitive in the APAC region 

  • Develop and manage digital marketing campaigns with paid media team for APAC region

  • Identify new consumer trends and digital marketing opportunities to ensure the brand is in front of the industry development

  • Facilitate the development of bi-lingual journeys - from copy, creative, landing page and accessing localised professional paid media channels

  • Identify and leverage local opportunities and partnerships currently not accessible outside of Japan

  • Recommend and execute local marketing campaigns e.g email campaign, F2F, retail, marketing presence at media partnerships, and paid channel development

  • Strategic and responsive analysis of campaign results using data metrics

  • Work closely with Customer Care on specific retention goals, and on offer alignment

B2B

  • Copywriting to B2B targeted audiences in Japanese and translation both ways (Japanese > English)

  • Support and implement agreed digital marketing campaigns tactics such as email communications, social media ads and SEM in the APAC region

  • Support and implement various online and offline marketing tactics in Japan to generate new business leads and trials from top prospects and increase engagement

  • Update existing digital assets and physical collateral (brochures, inserts etc.) for Japan

  • Planning and onsite support for proprietary or industry event sponsorships if required

  • Use customer research and insight to develop sales tools such as case studies, collateral, presentations to support the sales effort

  • Possible collaboration with the FT editorial team to promote FT content in Japan

  • Work with the in-house research team to obtain contact lists and ensure lead information in the CRM system (Marketo, Salesforce) is synced, accurate and measurable
