Within our Product and Technology Division, FT Core is the group designing, building, and maintaining FT’s three platforms (Content & Metadata, Data, and Membership) as well as services and products that support both the B2C and B2B businesses of FT.com and other parts of the wider Financial Times business. 

 

Position Summary

The FT is launching a Young Talent Programme in Sofia, Bulgaria and for the first time we are looking to hire two people for six-month Product Management Internships.

The FT is a digital subscription pioneer and with a total paying readers of more than one million, and this presents a tremendous opportunity for you to join one of the leading media digital subscription businesses globally. You will be working alongside a world class team of professionals in Product Management, Engineering, Delivery, Design, Research, Analytics, and Marketing.

We are not expecting you to have specific experience or education and people from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. What we expect from you however is that you would have a strong view of why you want to be a Product Manager and what kind of impact you are looking to achieve by being in a Product Management role.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Be the voice of the customer (external or internal) in the team that you work with
  • Work with an experienced Product Manager to help build a roadmap for your specific product portfolio
  • Help execute the product roadmap for your specific product by capturing requirements, specifying features, working with your teammates to deliver them, and ensuring that the quality of your product meets our high standards
  • Start working with data to try and answer fundamental product questions
  • Establish and maintain relationships with stakeholders and peers across the organisation.

 

Candidate Profile

Essential

  • Genuine interest in Product Management and good understanding of what it entails
  • Familiarity with data analysis
  • Good command of written and spoken English
  • Understanding of how agile software development teams work
  • An open mind to explore new ideas and willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with Jira and or other project management software

Desirable

  • Understanding of product design and user research
  • Interest in software platforms
  • Knowledge and/or interest in the media industry
