The Role / Position Overview
The lawyer will be solely responsible for working with key stakeholders in the Advertising department (including reviewing ads for clearance, negotiating high-value advertising and partner content deals), the Marketing department (including reviewing marketing material, subscription journeys and prize draw/competition T&Cs), the Brand and Partnership department (including advising on brand deals, brand licensing and third-party use requests), the Customer Services Team (including advising on customer queries and updating our Terms of Service), FT Forums and The Board Director Programme. The lawyer will also be responsible for maintaining our domain name portfolio, issuing takedown requests, and reviewing NDAs.
This is a fixed term mat cover position that will run until November 2023, ideally with an ASAP start.
Required Skills / Experience
- Qualified to practise in English law, with at least two years PQE.
- A genuine interest in working for a leading business news and information organisation.
- Experience of drafting and negotiating a range of commercial contracts.
- Good knowledge of legal issues relating to advertising, prize draws and promotions.
- Able to handle the demands of a fast-paced in-house role.
- Confident, articulate, credible and commercially-minded, with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Trained at a leading UK law firm
- Some in-house experience.
