The Role / Position Overview

Alpha Grid produces a range of market-leading video content, from short-form interviews, to animated explainer videos to fast turnaround event videos and to mini-documentaries.

As we grow and scale the business, an opportunity has arisen for a full-time producer to join our London team.

The Producer is a creative storyteller with extensive knowledge of global business trends. They have exceptional organisational skills, a strong background in production and a proven track record of managing high profile clients. 


Produce and direct video productions and other forms of content (including but not limited to interactive infographics, podcasts and articles) independently but under the supervision of a senior member of the team with responsibility for their completion, on time, on budget and to a high quality. You will often be required to work on multiple projects at any given time. This is likely to include:



  • Researching and developing multimedia content, both journalistically and creatively

  • Staying up to date on global business trends and FT trending topics

  • Writing creative briefs for animators and designers/working alongside the team until completion

  • Directing video shoots and post production – this may require travel and flexible working hours

  • Scripting videos, infographics and podcast content

  • Producing social media content to promote your content

  • Showing attention to detail on graphics, facts, name straps and subtitles

  • Commissioning and working with journalists, animators, talent and other freelance specialists

  • Acting as a creative lead and taking accountability for the projects assigned to you 

  • Assisting the leadership team in optimising our creative strategy by staying up to date on all AG and FT content activity and competitors’ campaigns

  • Being proactive in ensuring the work the department produces is of the highest quality


  • Working closely with the FT project managers to ensure that clients are comfortable with the progress we are making and have opportunities to input

  • Maintaining weekly status updates to clients and any other key stakeholders and suppliers 

  • Developing a professional relationship with clients and corresponding in a timely manner 

  • Striving to achieve client satisfaction on every project

  • We hire professional, creative, kind and fun people that wish to build long lasting client relationships in the same manner



  • checking production schedules produced by production team

  • working with production team to keep track of production budgets

  • Working with the production manager to coordinate any practical logistics on productions

  • Ensuring that all releases, permission agreements and SoWs are signed for the projects assigned to you 

  • Liaising with the production manager to book freelancers to support with filming, editing, event production, scripting and design

  • Overseeing the creation of reversions and managing the distribution of final assets to the FT and to clients

  • Managing multiple projects and prioritising effectively

  • Undertaking general administrative duties as and when required

Required Skills / Experience 

  • Any degree discipline is acceptable, although a relevant qualification in journalism, communications or media studies, humanities, English or business studies is preferred.
  • Must have strong administrative and communication skills and experience of working in a production environment.

Technical skills:

  • Skills and experience in video production

  • Experience producing social media content 

  • Strong script writing skills 

  • A strong understanding of content marketing and media production, which includes at least two years of hands-on experience  

  • Familiarity with key google suite (or equivalent) software and ideally adobe creative suite

  • A knowledge of production planning processes (familiarity producing or working to call sheets and production timelines)

  • Experience managing budgets and production schedules

Bonus skills

  • Skills and experience in event production and digital products such as interactive infographics 

  • Self-shooting skills with a camera such as Sony FS7 or equivalent

  • The ability to use editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro
