The Role / Position Overview
The heartbeat of FT Live is our strong portfolio of event products and our ability to access, convene, and engage the highest quality delegates, world-class speakers and sponsors; with access to clean, accurate and compliant data being the fuel.
The Head of Data & Marketing Campaign Operations, FT Live will be responsible for FT Live’s data & campaign operations. You will manage and mentor a team of campaign data executives and assistants, whilst monitoring performance across core data functions and processes which include data management, data selections, campaign management, GDPR requests, and integrations across our martech stack.
Outcomes
Success in this role will be defined by four dimensions:

Database management: growth of our compliant and contactable database, where quality and quantity are of equal importance.

Campaign management & marketing automation: engineering the ability to reach, engage and acquire the most appropriate prospects and delegates for FT Live events globally; reaching the right person with the right message, at the right time, across multiple sectors.

Operational Efficiencies: achieving operational efficiencies across our data team including functions and processes.

Database & Campaign Reporting: providing regular database and campaign insights, analytics and management information to update key stakeholders on data and campaigns performance as well as enable the organisation to better understand it’s customers and competitors.
Key Responsibilities
Your main responsibility will be to lead your team to achieve objectives and key results (OKRs) across our data operations function, whilst ensuring that appropriate practices, policies and procedures are implemented and/or followed. You will also work closely with marketing, delegate services, contact strategy, data governance, compliance and product & tech teams, to achieve your goals.
Your work will include:

Leading the ongoing process of building and developing our database so that data can be easily segmented, analysed and targeted. This work will include work with data research agencies, internal teams and through our own organic processes including lead generation.

Ensuring the best management of FT Live’s database and data management activities; from data upload and categorisations to deduping activities and actioning GDPR requirements including SARs and Erasure requests.

Overseeing the delivery and optimisation of marketing automation that will: i) help the marketing team’s to execute multi-channel campaigns ii) improve and enhance customer journeys that will increase customer engagement and ultimately grow paid-for registrations across our portfolio of conferences and events.

Running continuous testing activities against campaigns' key performance metrics and deliver ongoing improvement of key KPIs

Training, mentoring and challenging team members to get the best use out of the new customer data platform (CDP) and other data systems.

Overseeing data budgets and resources and prioritising efforts to deliver against agreed OKRs.

Providing regular, executive-level reporting on progress.
Required Skills / Experience

Management: specifically experience of data operations management, segmentation, analysis, and campaign management.

Expertise: proven experience of working with different data models, diverse data sets and systems across multiple channels.

Analytical: Highly skilled in using data and insights to drive commercial decisions to improve overall performance.

Martech: Exposure to a Customer Data Platform (CDP) and Single Customer View projects will be highly valuable.

Customer Focus: Strong customer-first mindset with a good understanding of contact strategy.

Action Oriented: Uses strong organisational, project management, and analytical abilities to take on new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm.

Communicates Effectively: Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical processes in a simple term that marketers can understand.
