The Role / Position Overview
We are at an exciting stage of our evolution.
Currently, half of our work comes to us through the FT - we are commissioned by FT clients to create Partner Content that sits on FT.com.
Now is the time to spread our wings and develop our direct-to-client business. The Business Development Manager will help lead the charge and spread the Alpha Grid word to clients who want to commission work for their own platforms and events, separately from work they may or may not do with the FT Group.
Working alongside our marketing, strategy and delivery teams in EMEA, APAC and the US, this new role will help us build and diversify our business, define and shape our direct-to-client business development proposition and approach, and most importantly, attract and win new clients.
The successful candidate is likely to have experience in and understanding of the B2B and finance industries and be able to prospect and engage senior content budget holders.
This is a 1 year fixed term maternity cover contract starting from early 2023.
Required Skills / Experience
You will have:
- the ability to drive sales leads and execute a strategic sales strategy
- confidence in prospecting, consulting and converting content sales to B2B and financial services clients
- strategic, results focused, self-motivated and entrepreneurial
- a sophisticated, persuasive communicator and an active listener
- a starter and a finisher with a perfect balance of creativity and detail
- an effective sole contributor and a motivating team player
- a familiarity with Salesforce, or similar CRM systems
- an understanding of content solutions and production techniques.
