Role Overview

The B2B division of the Financial Times licences FT content to organisations around the world, with clients across corporate, finance, government, professional services, education and media sectors. Whilst providing access to our journalism is core to our proposition, B2B is evolving from a predominantly single product sale division to a multi-product division. To assist with our departmental strategy, it is critical that we understand our existing customer base and strategically identify commercial opportunities.  

This ADR position sits within our UK Client Relationship Management team. This team is responsible for managing a £21 million bank of business, spanning all sectors. The team comprises 13 Client Relationship Managers based in our London office.  The ADR role will be critical in supporting this team account map for the purpose of supporting the team to engage, renew and grow this large bank of business, in addition to supporting the sales and testing of new products.

 

What will I be responsible for?
Identifying and speaking to new commercial stakeholders and budget holders within a bank of business and identifying new commercial opportunities - for the purpose of reaffirming the value of the service, supporting renewals, expanding existing licences, selling new products and uncovering cross selling opportunities. 

Tasks will include: 

  • Carrying out account mapping research of key accounts to support the above

  • Help uncover new commercial contacts that can support the  growth of the account and new commercial opportunities 

  • Assisting with setting up meetings for CRM team to engage stakeholders

  • Be a subject matter expert on FT.com and our new products and features

  • Speak confidently to stakeholders about the FT value proposition

  • Identify sectors, organisations and individuals to target for new products

  • Qualify inbound new product leads before setting up follow up meetings with the respective CRM

  • Actively participate in working groups relating to new products, whether it be developing an existing product/feature or discussions around which existing customers to target and how

  • Be a aware of relevant FT Events to help support strategic accounts

  • Providing additional support for the CRM team in client meetings

  • Supporting the CRM team with the various B2B initiatives to help increase revenue and obtaining new stakeholders

  • Weekly reporting, including successful calls made and challenges faced and provide monthly update to department

 

What Skills / Experience do I need to be successful in this role?

  • Articulate and tactful communication skills, particularly on the phone

  • Good questioning in order to uncover new sales opportunities

  • Proactivity, readiness to learn and develop understanding of FT product offering and value proposition

  • Good internet research skills

  • Strong relationship building skills both internally and externally

  • Highly motivated and strong desire to succeed

  • Organised and ability to prioritise a busy workload in a fast paced environment

  • Ability to work accurately, with strong attention to detail

  • Display initiative in undertaking all aspects of the role

  • Good team player with a willingness to collaborate.
