The Role / Position Overview
FT Live is looking for a Commercial Manager, Awards to join our Specialist Events team to develop & grow our awards revenues. The Specialist Events team run a number of long-established, successful and well-respected awards programmes across the FT Specialist brands, including The Banker, PWM, FTAdviser and Investors’ Chronicle.
Key Responsibilities

Originate and grow revenue across our portfolio of awards

Responsible for pre-event sales, table sales, winners package sales and post-event sales across the specialist events’ awards portfolio

Generate new revenue streams across our awards by identifying and implementing commercially-lucrative ideas

Responsible for the coordination of award sales with the operations and marketing teams

Support the wider sales team across the FT Group to sell into relevant awards programmes

Ensuring that trophies, logo requests and reports are sent to the client in a timely manner

Accountable for all stages of the commercial cycle, including: prospect identification, client consultation, proposal creation, contract negotiation and revenue processing

Prospect, pitch, and close business in excess of annual targets

Create international client relationships at a senior decision maker level

Work closely with event delivery team; editorial, marketing, design and operations

Work on integrated business solutions in collaboration with FT Specialists' advertising, research and content businesses
Required Skills / Experience

Proven commercial track record of delivering surpassing sales targets in a B2B environment

Experience of selling into B2B awards programmes and events

Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
-
Incredibly well-organised with strong attention to detail

Experience of working closely with operations teams and with an international client-base

Strong level of initiative and self-motivation

Experience of creating new revenue streams and increasing the value of existing ones

Proven commercial track record of surpassing sales targets

Commercial awareness and ability to adapt approach based on industry sector and job function

Demonstrated ability to adapt approach based on client’s needs, while maximising revenue potential

Awareness of wider industry segment business issues and ability to converse credibly with clients on a range of national and international business topics

Strong negotiation skills and ability to use influencing strategies to gain commitment both with peers and colleagues

Proficient in Salesforce (preferred)

Educated to degree level (preferred)

Knowledge of financial markets sector (preferred)
