The Role / Position Overview
Money-Media, a fast-growing, entrepreneurial subsidiary of The Financial Times, is an online media firm focused on being the premier source of news and intelligence for specialized businesses. Through our extensive suite of products, Money-Media delivers must-have content that helps people do their jobs better and supports the business IQ of hundreds of thousands of readers across the world.
We are seeking someone with keen data crunching skills to lead efforts to field surveys and deliver results to our readership. The successful candidate will follow asset management industry trends and devise timely, short and topical surveys for different industry demographics. The Research Analyst will deliver the results in a punchy, pithy format. Those with data visualization skills are highly encouraged to apply.
This person will work with the editorial team to devise survey topics and pitch their own ideas. They will also work with the project management team to build and field the surveys and to harvest the results.
The successful candidate will:
- Have comprehensive experience formulating and conducting surveys and crafting appropriate question sets.
- Proven market research skills and experience
- Know how to build and maintain databases
- Have experience using languages such as Javascript, R or Python to analyze large data sets
- Suggest news-driven research topics and develop valid questionnaires
- Derive conclusions from results and pitch creative ways to present the findings
- Develop and build reports in the most engaging possible format
- Work across departments, coordinating with research stakeholders
A grounding in wealth and asset management industry is strongly preferred. Other financial services (banking, insurance) knowledge a plus. Two to three years’ experience in a market research capacity is required for this role

Further Information
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $85,000-$95,000. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.
This a hybrid role, based out of our NY office 2-3 days per week.
