Financial Times Live (FT Live) is the conferences and events division of the Financial Times newspaper and its group publications. Our mission is to bring our global executive audiences the very latest in knowledge and opinion, and connect them to one another.

From unique experiences such as the FTWeekend Festival to our senior-level business summits such as the award winning Global Boardroom, FT Live has become one of the FT Group’s most successful and fastest-growing divisions, and is at the forefront of the FT’s accelerated development as an essential, interactive information source across numerous platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Campaign Planning & Execution:

  • Creating effective copy in our B2C tone of voice for all marketing materials including email, print ads, website, social media campaigns and day‐to‐day content marketing activities for the B2C events. 

  • Execute and manage social media activity on Twitter, Linkedin, Instagram and Youtube channels as well as influencer campaigns for our B2C marketing campaigns. This includes organic channel management, coordination with our paid digital team, monitoring performance and optimising to post-click engagement.

  • A/B test audiences, creatives and platforms to generate the best results and ensure learnings are shared amongst the team and meet KPI’s

  • Content scheduling, posting and asset library management for all social platforms

  • Online advocacy, provision of regular content (working in conjunction with Editorial Producers) and promotions (in conjunction with Marketing); combined with community‐outreach efforts.

  • Collaborate and create content marketing videos and support the team to ensure that all content marketing campaigns achieve their targets (scriptwriting and video editing experience is a plus)

  • Share regular best practice updates and product developments with the team in order to improve our B2C voice and overall strategy

  • Reporting and analysis of email and social media campaign performances, communicating the findings to internal stakeholders

  • Measuring the impact of B2C social media and marketing campaigns through the analysis, review and reporting of campaign effectiveness in an effort to maximise results.

  • Working closely with FT’s Communications and Audience Engagement teams to ensure the coordination of communications on main FT/FTWeekend social channels as needed

  • Communicating insights gained from social media and email monitoring to the Marketing and Editorial teams, to help them evolve their strategies in a timely fashion

  • Monitoring trends in marketing and social media tools, trends and applications

Event Delivery Support 

  • Lead and coordinate social media activity ‘at-event’ in the UK and/or overseas 

  • Out-of-hours working to support live broadcasts, community management and reactive content.

  • Edit video content for on the day and for post-event videos

  • Monitors comments and questions on all social media channels

Required Experience/ Skills 

  • At least 2 years of social media and/or marketing experience (drafting email copy, managing social media platforms and creating amazing content for brands) is a must, as well as experience within a news/media or entertainment field would also be strongly desirable. You must have a passion for writing,  social media and content marketing: you love how brands use content and social to activate and engage with communities around the things they love.

  • A can-do attitude: we are looking for high energy, problem-solving, self-starter, results-oriented, proactive individual with a high sense of urgency. Someone who is happy to help lead on campaigns but also happy to get stuck in and whip up a post quickly. 

  • A love for collaboration: we work a lot with different teams. So, the ability to form strong relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders is key.

  • Real drive and ambition: social media itself is an ever-growing and changing industry, so you'll be able to adapt and pivot.

  • Organised: FTLive and social media are fast-paced, there are lots to get involved with but there are also strict deadlines, so the ability to be reliable and to deliver on time is a must-have.

  • Attention to detail: A high degree of accuracy in work practices and ability to cope well under pressure

  • Think Outside the Box: The ability to create, manage and execute content marketing videos and editing

  • Analytic skills: Strong analytical skills and the proven ability to pay close attention to detail 

  • Action-oriented: Exercises initiative and works independently as appropriate

  • Understanding of social media & marketing systems: Proficiency with Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Google Doc, Sheets Microsoft Office Excel (Social Flow, After Effects, would be desirable) 

  • ​​Self-Development: Actively seeks new ways to grow and be challenged using formal and informal development channels.

  • Passionate: Excited and inspired about B2C events including festivals, gender inclusivity, sports conversation and an affinity for entertainment and media
