The FT’s Enterprise business

 

The FT has established commercial relationships with over 5000 corporate, government and education customers globally. These customers pay for teams of people to have access to FT’s journalism on any of 60 media platforms. Over 650,000 people at work or study now benefit from this. Enterprise customers are instrumental to the FT’s global growth strategy. This team, which we call B2B, is also responsible for the licensing of the FT’s content through a variety of means, including syndication agreements with other publishers.

 

This highly successful business has a consistent track record of delivering double-digit revenue growth and impressive margins. The next chapter of success for the B2B business will involve continued growth of the core business plus accelerated growth through significant investment in new products and services. Evolving from a single- to a multi-product organisation will require fit-for-purpose systems, processes and an ever more need to provide business intelligence and customer insight to inform and optimise strategic and commercial decision-making. As well as a high degree of coordination and cooperation across B2B teams and other FT divisions.

 

The Role / Position Overview

The B2B Project Manager will report to the Operations Director and will be responsible for transitional project management that ensures business projects are operationally integrated with the FT business, ensuring smooth coordination between teams and delivery of synergies on an ongoing basis (example of projects include managing the B2B rebranding project and supporting GTM strategy).  The role also includes ad hoc projects across departments, where relevant.

 

The ideal candidate enjoys solving problems and working alongside others, can take direction but is also proactive and is willing and able to work under their own initiative. You will be able to clearly scope, plan and implement a project from start to finish and in line with key objectives and timelines. You will be confident enough to work with people at all levels of seniority in the business and will be able to communicate with clarity as to the objectives and outcomes that are being sought from any particular initiative. 

 

The role requires perseverance, tenacity and organisation, an ability to deal with uncertainty and tackle new challenges and an ability to bring people on board a particular project that may not be part of their day job - positive and proactive relationship-building is therefore important. You will have strong commercial acumen and be able to create solutions for complex problems and work as a business partner across the B2B Leadership Team.

 

 You should have experience in managing tasks or projects to a timeline. The role will involve significant exposure to the B2B Leadership Team, and so the ability to establish credibility in working with senior management is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Leading the planning and implementation of projects.
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, timelines, and alternate scenarios
  • Work closely with clients and internal staff to understand project scope, complexity, effort, risk, resource needs, and timelines
  • Review project requirements with necessary parties to convert into plans and goals
  • Delegate tasks and hold stakeholders accountable for meeting project requirements and deadlines
  • Ensure projects are executed properly and delivered on schedule
  • Establish clear KPIs that can be monitored and reported back to stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
  • Completing a RACI analysis of project stakeholders and coordinating those with key project responsibilities.
  • Maintain and disseminate project status and metrics in a timely manner
  • Work closely with teams throughout projects to fine tune estimates and assess risks
  • Timely communication of all project blockers
  • Project retrospective analysis and benefits review.

 

Required Skills / Experience 

 

  • Candidates will have 2 - 3 years experience working in business project management 
  • Outstanding project management skills with an attention to detail;
  • Experience in managing several projects simultaneously;
  • Excellent English oral and written communication skills;
  • Outstanding project management skills;
  • Strategy experience is a plus;
  • Basic knowledge of change management is essential
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and/or Google Suite.
