FT Live is using world-leading event technology, to bring you closer to the people and content that matter - all of our events can be accessed from the comfort of your office or home.

Most of our events are in-person or hybrid (in-person with virtual elements attached to it). On event days, the team works outside of ordinary working hours,  involving the occasional early start and/or late finish. The intern will be expected to accommodate these hours if and when needed, but will be offered time off in lieu so as not to exceed agreed weekly working hours.


Summary of internship role:

This internship opportunity will be pertinent to an individual interested in exploring a career in the events space.  In this role, you will support the content, marketing, sales and event delivery teams by:

  • Conducting desk and phone research to determine potential topics and speakers for our existing and new events;
  • Writing copy for event agendas and helping to recruit speakers;
  • Writing marketing copy for websites, sponsor marketing packs, emails,  social media  and other channels;
  • Assisting with creating social media cards and other digital marketing assets;
  • Managing website updates for content and marketing elements;
  • Researching potential partners and sponsors for events, sourcing intel on sponsors of competing events, identifying decision-makers and researching their contact details;
  • Helping with event delivery on the day (on backend if digital, or at in-person events), including but not limited to, support at registration desk, liaising with VIP speakers, FT journalists and delegates, producing event highlights for the social media team, managing the Q&A sessions, and working with the videographer and photographer.

Some elements of the internship can be tailored to suit the candidate’s interests and aspirations.

Individuals with varied backgrounds and skill sets will be considered for this internship role, however preference will be given to those with strong research and writing experience.

Further information

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $15.00/hr. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations.


Candidates should be aware that new employees will be required to be vaccinated by their start date, meaning they have received all of the recommended doses for either a one dose or two dose COVID-19 vaccine, and provide proof of vaccination status (e.g. CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card) , which will be kept confidential.
