Ensure Delivery
- Create vision and value - Work with Technical and Product leaders to define, shape and prioritise the vision, goals, initiatives and outcomes - seeking value, avoiding complexity, ensuring the right things happen.
- Build governance - Manage and monitor budget, resources, and risks - proactively planning and taking corrective action where necessary to maximise success
- Deliver value - Work across disciplines to ensure that work flows effectively and that the benefits of products and services delivered are measured.
- Coach and facilitate teams - Resolve conflict and disagreement, facilitate workshops, remove distractions and impediments, help them make decisions, and resolve conflict and disagreement
- Create transparency - Clearly communicate vision, schedule and progress, both within and outside of the teams.
Improve Delivery
- Use Data - Use delivery data to trigger continuous improvement conversations within the teams.
- Build community - Work to improve the FT’s Lean-Agile capability. Share knowledge, grow the supporting community and tools across the organisation and develop the delivery team as a whole.
About the Senior Delivery Manager Role
This is a senior role and in it you will contribute significantly to the management of the group projects and programmes as well as carrying out cross-group activities.
It will involve:
- Leadership
- You will support the Delivery Director in enabling transparency and governance across the group
- You will bring strong facilitation capabilities to unify senior cross disciplines leadership together
- Managing complex projects and/or programmes of work
- You will be responsible for managing projects and programmes of work across multiple teams and groups, including 3rd party suppliers
- You will support management of budgets within your group and help resolving budgetary challenges
- Change Management
- You will adopt and champion effective change management, ensuring that the adoption and acceptance of changes are planned
- You will lead on implementing changes and improvements to the Group you are working in, or to the Product & Technology department.
- Delivering business value
- You will be responsible for delivering product capabilities and/or business changes that lead to broader strategic outcomes
- Culture and Behaviour
- You will contribute to the ongoing improvement of the teams’ behaviours and culture within and beyond the group.
- This will include modelling and helping to set and reinforce our inclusive, respectful and open culture, as well as taking ownership of improvement activities and seeing them through to completion.
- You will engage with teams across FT to encourage a “one team” approach to delivering outcomes, and to encourage healthy behaviours conducive to a positive collaboration.
About you
You have in depth experience and understanding of:
- Managing projects and programmes of multiple teams, including 3rd party suppliers
- Digital product and platform development
- Coaching agile teams and individuals, workshop facilitation and structured problem solving
- Cross-business stakeholder management experience
- Managing delivery and priorities using measurable business outcomes
- Financial management
You are
You are obsessed with driving value, measurement and teamwork to achieve commercial objectives. You enjoy communicating, facilitating and consolidating vision, but are also a leader in your own right. You are also adept at stakeholder communication, engagement and creating transparency.

- Proactive and an accomplished influencer - ability to negotiate to deliver work packages to fixed deadlines
