Overview of the role and team structure

We’re looking for a Senior Content Designer to join FT Enterprise/B2B, building products and services to bring the FT into the workflows of 850,000 professional users world wide.

This is a contract role, inside IR35, for 3 months.

It’s an exciting time to join the team: we have a fresh new brand identity to roll out across the entire B2B product portfolio, and are redesigning our acquisition and onboarding flows.

In this role, you will

  • Support a complete rebranding of our product portfolio; ensuring coherence by crafting concise copy that brings the FT Brand tone of voice to life.
  • Help us design acquisition and onboarding flows that provide our customers with the right information, at the right time.
  • Define the IA and create instructional, informative, accessible copy that helps customers buy and manage their subscription - without human support.
  • Help us simply describe complex or technical features for our customers, such as Single Sign-on and new content analytics capabilities.

Content Design is a new discipline for Enterprise/B2B, so the role will also involve

  • Establishing guidelines, best practices, and processes.
  • Knowledge sharing and collaboration with other FT teams, including Brand, Marketing, Product, Design and Research
  • Educating product and stakeholder groups on the role of content design in product development.

We are looking for

  • Strong experience of leading and delivering high-quality content design work at a senior level.
  • A confident self-starter: much of the work will be self-initiated.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
  • Experience working in cross-functional agile teams alongside product. designers, user researchers, product managers, engineers, data analysts, etc.   - this role won’t involve writing blogs or social media posts.
  • Experience working with analytics, data and research insights to support content design decisions.
  • Comfortable navigating a large, complex organisation.

About FT Enterprise/B2B

In FT Enterprise/B2B we are building premium products and tools that give professional customers value over and above a standard FT subscription. In 2022 we helped customers share and collaborate with Highlighting and Enterprise Sharing, became the first media organisation to release an app for Microsoft Teams, and enabled Single Sign-on to help customers access personalised content recommendations even more efficiently.

2023 is an exciting time to join the Enterprise/B2B design team: we are rolling out a fresh new brand, expanding our design system, exploring new products around communities, events and analytics, and designing personalised experiences to help FT customers find the most relevant content to their role.

How we work

We offer a 40 hour working week to contractors in our London office. Our hybrid setup means staff are expected to come into the office 2 days a week on average. We operate flexibly and thus this 2 day a week figure should be taken as a general ratio of the time you will spend in the office.
