We write for an audience of financial advisors about how to work with clients, how to win new ones, how to grow a practice and, of course, what the major industry players are doing to stay competitive in terms of pay, benefits, products and business support. That means talking to advisors, executives and recruiters and digging through filings to find original stories.

Financial Advisor IQ is a free online daily news service written for financial advisors. It is a member of the Financial Times family of news services covering the investment management industry, including sister publications Ignites and FundFire.
Duties
The job requires a reporter who can work on a daily deadline and write and report three or more in-depth articles a week and take on other duties as needed.
The reporter will work the registered investment advisor (RIA) beat, encompassing Securities and Exchange Commission-registered advisory firms and the custodians and service providers operating in that market. They will also help cover developments in compliance and regulation of the wealth management industry . We want someone who has a nose for news, can develop a network of sources and manage a pipeline of enterprise stories.
The reporter will tell stories with words, graphics and video and generate both hard news and features.
On occasion, reporters may travel to conferences or other events.
Reporters and editors at Financial Advisor IQ are held to fundamental standards of integrity, honesty and journalistic ethics.

This position is based in New York and offers hybrid work options. Our New York offices are in lower Manhattan.
A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $68,500-$72,000. To ensure pay fairness, the successful candidate will be offered a salary within the estimated salary range based on a number of considerations including but not limited to: skill set; experience and training; certifications; and other business and organisational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for our NYC office and has not been adjusted for other locations. Candidates should be aware that new employees will be required to be vaccinated by their start date, meaning they have received all of the recommended doses for either a one dose or two dose COVID-19 vaccine, and provide proof of vaccination status (e.g. CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card) , which will be kept confidential.
