The Role / Position Overview              

FT Specialist provides niche audience groups with information that helps them take better decisions and operate more effectively. The Manila team is responsible for maintaining and improving FT Specialist’s database of institutional investors and investment consultants. Each team member will research information to update or add to one of these directories. Researchers will be expected to be willing to work hours to coincide with the New York office. 

Key Responsibilities 

Researcher 

  • Research corporate filings, company websites, press releases and other publicly available documents to find key information that makes the directories valuable. 

  • Update or add details of eight investors a day. 

  • Key information  includes: 

    • Asset allocations, including investment fund selections

    • Investment strategies

    • Key contacts

    • Office locations

    • Contact information (telephone, email, websites)

    • Departures or hires of key personnel

    • Office openings or closings

    • Business connections/relationships

  • Begin to contact investors via email to gather or confirm information not taken directly from the websites of the entities being researched

  • Upload information to the directories using MandateWire’s content management system

  • Provide weekly updates of progress to team leader (breakdown of funds added v updated and types of fund)

  • Pull together new sources of info to add additional investors and consultants  

  • Begin to generate leads for reporters

  • Know basics of the asset management industry. Aware of developments within it.
