Role Overview 

Performs editorial support role such as creating charts and graphs

What will you be responsible for?

  • Creates charts and graphs
  • Responds to requests by other FT editorial offices
  • Creates audio transcripts with a high level (at least 70%) of accuracy
  • Adds pictures, multimedia and links to articles
  • Sub-edits articles as assigned
  • Helps update media platforms
  • If tasked with comment moderation, helps ensure that reader discussions follow FT community standards
  • Helps to improve the team spirit and internal work relationships
  • Performs other functions as instructed by the team leader and/or manager​

What skills do you need to be successful in this role?

  • Excellent oral and written English grammar
  • Proficiency in Adobe creative suites (Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects)
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and working with statistical data is an advantage
  • Works with minimum supervision, has sound news sense and is able to make crucial editorial judgment calls
  • Keen eye for detail, ability to spot errors
  • Adaptability to new work processes
  • Can work fast yet maintain a high quality of work under tight deadlines
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • Willing to work the night shift schedule, including weekends and holidays on a hybrid work arrangement (2x on-site and 3x work from home)
