Role Overview

FT Professional (the B2B division of the Financial Times) is seeking a Bilingual Marketing Executive (Japan Market), based in Tokyo. This is an exciting opportunity to help build FT Professional’s portfolio through various marketing campaigns. 

You will work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Editorial, Advertising & Marketing teams to carry out a variety of projects, from ideation to completion, including but not limited to case studies production, translation, email outreach, events, webinars and digital marketing channels.  

This position requires a creative and emphatic strategist who is adept at translating business needs into actionable plans, whilst at the same time ensuring that the output adheres to the FT’s standards.

Responsibilities and goals you’ll own: 

Campaign planning & execution:

  • Planning, coordinating and executing effective 12 month marketing plans to ensure our offerings reach the right people at the right time.

  • Local and regional creating and executing outbound marketing campaigns across a range of channels, including but not limited to websites, email marketing, digital advertising, SEO optimization,  social and traditional media, influencers and PR.

  • Planning and producing engaging lead generation activities that drives revenue

  • Briefing, building, segmenting and reviewing data and creative ideas to attract new audiences to FT Professional

  • Briefing necessary creative materials to the internal brand team/ marketing agency including but not limited to print, social media assets and digital ads.

  • Designing and deploying compelling email campaigns, ensuring our messaging and copy are highly engaging and resonate with our key audiences and design is aligned with FT Professional branding in bi-lingual (English & Japanese) journeys

  • Work closely with sales to generate market demand on specific new business goals and align on performance measurement metrics.

  • Work closely with customer success on specific client retention goals, and on offer alignment

  • Leverage on local partnerships opportunities that is currently not accessible outside of Japan in events, webinars and sponsorships (e.g but not limited to; FT Corporate communications, Editorial, Nikkei) & explore opportunities with Nikkei/FT cross promotion (Nikkei Asian Review, NMP, Nikkei Shimbun)

Campaign Analysis & Reporting:

  • Reporting on audience engagement and booking trends to the regional marketing team on weekly basis

  • YOY analysis for all marketing channels for each campaigns

  • Creating reports including stats, images and videos for key stakeholders

  • Conducting a detailed campaign analysis that will inform marketing strategy for the following year

What you’ll need: 

  • Professional marketing experience preferably in B2B sunscriptions and/or in a media organisation

  • With excellent copywriting skills

  • Excellent organisation, analytical and time management skills to manage end-to-end campaigns and work under pressure to meet deadlines.  

  • Strong communicator with experience in building, nurturing and maintaining relationships across all levels of business (internal and external)
  • Well-developed influencing skills to gain commitment from external vendors and internal stakeholders

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills with the ability to ask good questions and speak with confidence about the value proposition

  • Ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally

  • High level of initiative and motivation

  • Proficiency with Marketo, Salesforce, Google Doc, Sheets and Microsoft Office Excel

  • Strong understanding of budgeting and ability to exercise appropriate judgement
