The Role / Position Overview
FT.com is the award-winning website of the Financial Times, providing the gold standard in global business news and information. The Campaign Management team is responsible for providing a first class service to our clients, working alongside multiple teams across the commercial floor and becoming a key stakeholder in the successful delivery of digital campaigns across all FT entities.

As part of the newly formed vertical mapping, the team specialise not only in the delivery of campaigns but also throughout the briefing and reporting stages, offering insight and intelligence that leads to the successful delivery. Once an order is received, the campaign needs to be delivered and managed with strict attention to detail to ensure the campaign runs smoothly with optimisation to agreed metrics as required.

A proactive approach is taken, ensuring reporting and unique insight in provided and fed back to all teams and presented to our clients.

The purpose of the role is to take on responsibility managing all aspects of your online campaign work for top spending clients. You will set an example to the team by attending sales meetings, working proactively with various teams around the business. You will be required to help the Vertical Lead with various tasks and should also assist other team members when required. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide the sales teams with regular reports on available inventory. Ensure that our available inventory is correctly managed and offer solutions for the sales team and advertisers.
  • Manage orders from point of booking through to end of campaign reports.
  • Provide visibility to the operations team and the sales team for the status of all orders ensuring campaigns start on schedule and are delivering as expected. Potential issues should be raised pro-actively with a view to early resolution of problems. Where possible, set up automated alerts and a process that operates as an early warning system for potential issues.
  • Testing of all advert creative, ensuring they meet FT specifications, are legally compliant and work correctly on the site. Build strong working relationships with creative agencies.
  • Proactively provide campaign reporting and presentations tailored to the stage of a campaign and work with the sales teams and advertisers to optimise campaigns to an agreed metric.
  • Work with the Data Strategist team to provide insight on aspects of the campaign that perform well and which aspects of the campaign are under-performing. Work together on optimisation ideas that will help to improve campaign performance.
  • Proactively work to ensure that the tools and processes in place are fit for purpose, suggesting changes to Vertical Lead
  • Get involved in ongoing projects and tasks, passing on knowledge to other members of the team.

 

Required Skills / Experience

Essential 

  • 2+ years experience in campaign management and/or digital operations
  • Strong time management skills - ability to prioritise workload, work to agreed schedules and respond in a timely manner as required.
  • Excellent communication skills - ability to build working relationships internally and externally
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills - ability to translate analysis into engaging presentations, reports and for use optimising campaigns
  • Experience in and knowledge of ad servers and order managements systems (e.g. Google Ad Manager, AdBook, Passendo, DV360)
  • Knowledge of third party ad servers (Sizmek, Google DCM) and ad verification partners (IAS, DV, MOAT)
  • Strong understanding of the FT products
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Results-driven, high-performing, high-quality work attitude
  • Proactive and motivated approach
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively

Desirable

  • Experience using CRM systems and communication tools such as Salesforce, Slack and Google Suite
  • Strategic thinking about FT's needs wider than solely specific campaigns
  • High creativity with the ability to identify potential upselling opportunities based on previous campaign delivery
