About the role:

This role sits in the Management Accounts team in Manila. The department overseen from a Finance perspective will be Print Circulation and will have the key responsibilities of Asia Circulation, Global Sponsorship and Magazine Production. Prepare month end journals and quarterly forecasting for worldwide magazine paper and print and Coding of magazine print invoices.

We have 16 print sites globally and the UK Business Analyst manages the paper and printing costs for all newspapers produced globally, as well as the distribution costs associated with those newspapers. This Manila based role will provide key management accounting support to them to help them achieve that goal. 

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly loading of Asia KPI revenue data to Essbase.

  • Loading monthly KPIs into Essbase (eg pagination, waste, print issues etc) 

  • Prepare reports and provide commentary for month end and quarterly forecast variance analysis.

  • Timely and accurate month end processing  monthly revenue journals for accrued and deferred revenue and costs.

  • Preparation of monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations

  • Forming and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders - understanding their needs and keeping informed with relevant information.

  • Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by the business and the Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner.

Qualifications:

  • ACCA/CIMA part-qualified, a bachelor's degree in Accountancy, Financial Management or equivalent would be an advantage.

  • A minimum of 2 years work experience in a relevant finance environment.

  • Confident communicator with a variety of audiences and fluent in English (spoken and written) for regular interactions with the Finance teams, the businesses and other support functions.  This role will also have a high degree of virtual interaction (telephone, video and email) with the UK, US and other FT global offices.

  • Intermediate level with MS Excel is essential (advanced level preferred).

  • Experience with Google suite, Oracle Accounts and Essbase would be an advantage.

  • Demonstrable analytical skills, comfortable with large financial data sets.

  • Effective organisation and time management skills, able to handle multiple requests and prioritise accordingly. 

  • Strong work ethic and self-motivated with an ability to work independently. 

  • An innovative mindset and a willingness to show initiative - identifying issues with processes and improving them if necessary.

  • Great attention to detail

  • Proactive to understand stakeholder needs and take initiative to problem solve.
