What First Digital is looking for?

We are looking for a Software Engineer that’s passionate about the latest technology and building best-in-class products, in a team setting. We’re looking for someone who is self-motivated, able to work within the product team and interact with other departments with little oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Develop quality software, build innovative solutions capable of delivering excellent user experience for financial custody and settlements

  • Work with team to develop enhancements and major features to support product vision, contribute to new services to retain existing clients and attract new customers

  • Refactor code to fix system issues and improve performance, contribute to maintaining excellent customer satisfaction

  • Meet team’s definition of done (meet acceptance criteria, pass code review, implement tests, etc.)

  • Actively participate in requirements design and refinement process

  • Assist DevOps team and stakeholders prepare for smooth releases

Requirements

  • Fluent in English

  • Excellent at analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

  • Self-driven, able to communicate within a team and work independently

  • Passion for continuous learning and growth

  • Familiar with Agile principles and values

  • Experience working with version control (Git) and other basic development tools

  • Experience working with REST APIs

  • 7+ years experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks (Angular, React, etc.). Candidates with less experience will be considered for an intermediate position.

  • Experience with modern CSS and component libraries (Bootstrap, Material, etc.)

Nice to Have

  • Experience working in a startup / fintech

  • Experience working in a Scrum Team

  • Experience with automated testing (Jasmine, Karma)

  • Familiar with responsive design, i.e. mobile first

  • Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)

  • Familiar with CI/CD (Github Actions, etc.) and cloud computing (AWS)

  • Domain knowledge in virtual assets or finance (DeFi, NFTs, payments, wealth management)
