Five - “Driving Autonomy”
Five is a European technology leader in the field of automated driving systems. Following our acquisition by Bosch Mobility, we’re now part of Cross-Domain Computing (XC) and the Bosch team delivering the Automated Driving Alliance. The Automated Driving Alliance is a development collaboration between Bosch and CARIAD (part of Volkswagen Group) for partially and highly automated driving, jointly developing a state-of-the-art, standardized software platform.
Having worked on some of the most challenging problems in Automated Driving, we’re now focusing our efforts as part of the Alliance, to lead the development of offline testing capabilities and workflow. Integrating technology and automotive talent is a winning formula and our work will empower the industry to build automated driving systems that are safer, smarter, faster and scalable.
We’re engineers, scientists, developers, and designers. We’re problem-solvers, dreamers, pioneers, innovators, creatives and pragmatists. We’re new hands and accomplished pros. We’re hard-working people, solving far-reaching challenges.
About the Team
Our Platform provides a number of Domain-Specific Languages (DSLs) that enable our users to concisely encode their driving specification for verification within our platform. Our DSL Tooling Developers work to develop and maintain these DSLs as well as the core infrastructure needed to support that functionality. You will be working closely with all our other product teams in order to leverage our driving specification for the most efficient verification and validation of autonomous vehicles.
What you will do
As a full stack DSL tooling developer, day to day, you would be expected to: design large features, and work with other members of the team to implement them. Investigate and solve complex system issues and bugs. Provide code and design review for other team members. Help to develop and improve continuous deployment systems. You will contribute to maintaining high technical standards, e.g. overall architecture and design patterns, continuous build systems, coding standards, etc. You will work collaboratively with other teams across the company to coordinate development efforts and best practices.
- Deep understanding of the Xtext Domain-Specific Language framework and Language Server Protocol extension development, alternatively experience in language specification and compiler design.
- Fluent in modern Java and Typescript, with experience in other languages, particularly Python.
- Any experience with modern cloud services infrastructures (AWS, GCP, Azure) or containerised application environments (Docker, Kubernetes) would be beneficial but not essential.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab, CircleCI, Travis CI, or Jenkins, would also be beneficial.
As part of Bosch Mobility, you will be joining a global leader in Mobility; we fuel the ideas of tomorrow and improve the technology of today. As part of Five, we provide an environment where you can develop your skills and deliver meaningful work that matters. Where you can have a real impact in a smart, low-ego multi-cultural team. You’ll be rewarded with a competitive salary and financial package, pension and private medical care.
Five are committed to Equal Employment Opportunity through attracting and retaining a complementary team of employees and building an inclusive environment for all.
Help us to build the future of safer autonomy!
