The Role

As Garden’s People Operations Manager, you will oversee human resources and support financial and administrative processes for our team. In this role, our workplace manager will report to you and you will report directly to our VP of Finance.

What you will do:

HR Administration

  • Manage HR data, payroll processes and benefits schemes
  • Ensure compliance with employment regulations
  • Support recruitment and outreach efforts for key roles
  • Serve as onboarding lead and primary contact for new team members
  • Assist in the proper offboarding at separation of employment
  • Support strong organizational culture with respect to Garden's core values and policies
  • Serve as initial point of contact for local issues and grievances, and facilitate access to HR resources for the team
  • Provide general support, tools, and advice to management team around professional development and performance management

Finance & Administration

  • Coordinate payment of payroll and other personnel related expenditures; third party invoices; staff expense reimbursements; and credit card reconciliations
  • Support audit processes, financial reporting and budgeting processes as needed
  • Manage contracts and relationships with external service providers
  • Provide administrative support to the travel logistics of team members, such as bookings, calculating per diems, visa requests etc.
  • Provide support for the production of team and company events, including liaising with caterers and vendors

About You

We’d love to hear from you, if you bring the following experience, skills and mindset:

  • At least 2 years of experience in human resources management
  • Knowledge of common HR practices and work culture in Germany, including key knowledge regarding employment regulations, culture and practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and an understanding of how to effectively manage cultural differences in the workplace with
  • Experience with managing grievances and anti-harassment processes and policies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German (German native speaker preferred)
  • Desire to work with a dynamic, international team in a fast-paced environment
  • Good judgment and an ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities
