We’re seeking a dilligent DevOps Engineer to join our R&D team and help maintain crucial infrastructure operations supporting core research initiatives.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deploy and diligently maintain blockchain nodes in testnet and mainnet environments
- Devise and execute node configurations for specific research purposes at the low-level, including consensus algorithms, throughput, and latency
- Take ownership in managing and optimizing Kubernetes (K8s) and Nomad clusters
- Implement and proactively uphold the highest Infrastructure as Code standards
- Devise and maintain CI/CD pipeline set-up, ensuring the highest degree of system robustness
- Monitor system performance and health, troubleshooting, and reporting on issues with cloud and bare metal infrastructure
- Automate testing and deployment processes to reduce friction in delivering crucial infrastructure updates
- Evaluate and drive the adoption of new technologies and tools to streamline operations and increase system efficiency
Requirements and needed skills:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of DevOps experience
- Extensive experience and advanced proficiency with Kubernetes (K8s)
- In-depth knowledge of Docker and cloud services (AWS, GCP, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency with database management systems, particularly PostgresSQL
- Experience with CI/CD pipeline creation, optimization, and management
- Understanding of fundamental blockchain concepts or demonstrated a strong passion for learning and experimentation (i.e. open source contributions)
- Ansible, Terraform, and other automation tool savviness
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Nice to have:
- Experience working with EVM-based blockchain nodes and understanding of blockchain validator principles
- Hands-on experience with Nomad
- Familiarity with microservice architecture and the associated monitoring tools
- Active involvement and contributions to open-source developer communities
- Experience working in fast-paced, remote-first startup environments
