OVERVIEW:

Join us as a Pattern Maker to develop patterns that give Gymshark a competitive edge in product creation and work in our state-of-the-art Development Centre.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract as maternity cover.

Under the guidance of the Development Centre Manager, you'll master pattern making and cutting for all digitised patterns across womenswear and menswear, enhance the pattern making and grading function whilst driving innovation and excellence.

With your expertise in pattern grading and cutting on Lectra and knowledge of fit, movement and body proportion you will ensure every product meets Gymshark’s high standards. Your core competency will, allowing you to work seamlessly with cross functional Technical Teams.

YOUR ROLE

Key responsibilities include:

  • Using block patterns from suppliers, ensuring equivalent tolerances.
  • Organising and cataloguing all patterns.
  • Grading styles to fit the full Gymshark size range.
  • Advising Design and Development teams on pattern changes for better garment fit.
  • Working with machine Operators to deliver concept prototypes.
  • Researching alternative garment creation methods to solve obstacles.
  • Assisting sample machinists with cut and sew garment workloads.
  • Supporting the Development team with transfers, packing, and large job duties.

Accountable for:

  • Create 2D/3D patterns and corresponding specification guides for Gymshark products.
  • Adapt existing block patterns to fit various body shapes.
  • Develop and maintain a standardised Gymshark pattern library.
  • Draft patterns from measurements or sample garments.
  • Coordinate with teams and vendors to ensure accurate pattern export and labelling.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Experience creating patterns for prototypes in a workshop, sample facility, factory, or commercial environment.
  • Demonstrate strong creative and technical talent, with expertise in digital garment construction and pattern creation software.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and self-motivated, with a passion for tailoring measurements to meet specifications and consumer needs.
  • Excellent creativity, communication, teamwork, presentation, time management, and analytical skills.
  • Commercially aware and self-driven, with creative problem-solving skills and understanding of apparel/accessories manufacturing and consumer needs.
  • Build strong relationships, translate complex concepts, stay calm under pressure, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
