PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITY OF THE ROLE

The Business Development Director is accountable for achieving Healios UK sales targets by securing new contracts with Healios’ defined target segment, the NHS. Central to this role is experience of a consultative, customer needs to value led sales approach achieved through a detailed understanding and experience of what matters most to NHS Commissioners and Providers. 

You will have extensive knowledge of funding streams and how money flows through the Health and Care Systems, what they get measured on, what challenges they need to overcome, what success would look like for them and how much they are able to invest to achieve that success. 

This is a director level,  individual contributor role and you will be responsible for delivering critical business outcomes. You will be leading, developing and executing a new sales contracts strategy and success plan for your region outlining key initiatives, tactics, milestones, key performance indicators, required resources and dependencies in order to achieve the agreed sales targets. Having a bias to action and being comfortable with autonomy is essential.  

 

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Identify, quantify, qualify and secure new contracts with Healios’ defined target account who we don’t currently have an existing contract with.
  • Identify who the key contract decision makers are within NHS Integrated Care Systems, Provider Collaboratives, NHS Provider Trusts, Local Authority and Third Sector organisations. 
  • Develop tactics and initiatives to gain access to the key decision makers and influencers involved with commissioning and contract awards, taking them through the customer adoption ladder from unaware/prospect to contract won.
  • Through your expert knowledge of the NHS, market and competitors you will help input and shape the value proposition required to successfully engage the key contract decision makers by applying a customer needs sales approach with clear rationale as to why they should embed Healios within their teams as part of their service transformation and sustainability plans. 
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams such as Growth, Operations, Clinical, Finance, Product and Tech during the sales cycle to ensure all internal stakeholders are aware, aligned and in agreement of the scope, deliverables, expectations, timelines and constraints of new sales contract opportunities.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of changing market trends which affect the needs and requirements of our customers, providing insights to inform company strategies to maintain a strong value proposition and a competitor advantage

 

To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you:

  • Extensive and demonstrable sales success with the NHS, minimum 10 years.
  • Genuine customer focus and demonstrable experience of a consultative, customer needs to value led sales approach is essential 
  • Results driven with a proven track record of significant quarter on quarter revenue growth achieved by signing contracts with new customers through business planning and key business development initiatives.
  • Proven experience in a leadership role, creating and delivering on new sales strategies to achieve revenue targets 
  • In depth knowledge of NHS commissioning structure and procurement routes; with the ability to use a variety approaches to secure NHS high value contracts 
  • Self motivated and able to navigate and find solutions to shortening the sales cycle by successfully and compliantly navigating the complex customer procurement and contracting processes. 
  • High level of emotional intelligence and relationship focus, able to seamlessly adapt your style and approach based on different customers persona’s and profiles
  • Ability to thrive under pressure in a sometimes ambiguous working environment to successfully deliver multiple complex revenue projects.
  • Expert understanding of the evolving NHS landscape, with a demonstrable track record and network of key contract decision makers and influencers across our target accounts and customer groups.
  • Excellent communicator and collaborator, able to efficiently partner with external and internal stakeholders to scope out the core requirements and deliverables for the contract including financial terms. 
  • Credible, able to engage and develop customer relationships to expand access to Healios services across the UK for the benefit of clients and families with neurodevelopmental and/or mental health conditions.  
  • Willingness to travel within the UK for face-to-face meetings with key NHS accounts, attend briefings, and conferences.
  • Commitment to a culture of openness and collaboration within the Growth team and across the wider Healios organisation.
  • Skilled in reporting data to inform decision-making and prioritisation.
  • Passion for supporting individuals to improve their lives.
